Sometimes the internet has funny stories.  Like this one, brought to you from your friends in Chicago.  Apparently, underneath a bridge in Chicago, a salt stain has appeared in the form of the virgin Mary.  Thousands of visitors flocked to  the site to leave candles and to touch and gawk at the wall.  An old man fainted.  I love America.
April 26, 2005
This past weekend was going to be a party.  But then it wasn't.  But that's okay.  I just sat around all weekend and relaxed.  It was nice.  And much needed.  I ate some cookies, watched some bad movies, and read a couple of hundred pages about wine.  Yippee.  It was actually a really nice change of pace not to be running around all over.  (Although I do love my out-of-state visits.)  On Saturday, I went out to get a cd, Johnny Hickman's Palmhenge, but I couldn't find it anywhere.  Johhny Hickman was in Cracker.  I saw him and David Lowery (also from Cracker) perform in Aspen when I was there, as well as here in Poughkeepsie a few weeks ago.  They put on a good show.  I've heard a few bits from the album and cared enough to go buy a cd.  I can't remember the last time i bought a cd.  (Actually, the last cd I bought was CC's F.A.G., but that wasn't a real cd, so it doesn't really count.)  Point is, I couldn't find it.  I'm not a fan of online shopping.  Yes, I think it's a hassle.  And it's lacking the instant gratification factor that I dig.  So, I don't know.  But what I also did this weekend, that you may find interesting, is I bonded with my camera some more.  I love my camera.  I took a lot of pictures.  Mostly of me making funny faces.  I entertain so easily.  I think I spent about 2 hours just taking pictures of myself.  And I took some video of me dancing.  I'm pretty sure I could be the next American Idol.  Catch me, 2006, baby!  And maybe you'll be able to catch some of those pictures up here shortly.  If they make it through my editing chip.  Or if you ask nicely.
