And the fun continues. Today is BR549, Lyle Lovett and the Steve Miller Band. That's right, I said Lyle Lovett. BR549 was some country rock crap. Some funny songs, and good stage presence, but I just wanted to see Lyle. Out comes the man. He's gotta have about 12 people in his band. They are all dressed in suits and they are all these old men that look like stuffy college professors. So, of course I'm ready for them to rock. Now, I did know that Lyle was some sort of musical. I can thank my freshman roommate, Meghan for that. She had his CD. In fact, she might've had more than one of his CDs. That's right, Meghan, I'm blowing your spot. Anyway, Lyle was just as I expected. A waste of my time. Everyone else thought he was clever. However, I haven't been living in a cave for the past 40 years, and have heard actual rockin' music. This is where my 43-year old fan base gets testy. I'm sorry. Anyway, Lyle was Lyle. It was funny though. And I can now tell people that I saw Lyle Lovett in concert. Can you? Haha, take that! Then Steve Miller Band came out. I'd say they were easily the best show of the whole festival. In fact, they put on one of the best concerts I've ever seen. And I've seen quite a few concerts. (Yes, other than the Crows, toolbox.) Steve Miller rocked. He's gotta be about 60 now. He came out in a blazer, looking a bit like Mr. Holland. And then the dude just rocked out and kicked for about an hour or two. Man, he owned the place. And he owned me during Abracadabra. I love that song. I think that's why he played it. Anyway, yeah. Here are some pictures. They're only of SMB, because you weren't allowed to take pictures at all. Oops. But, yeah - they took the guy-next-to-me's camera during Lyle. I decided Lyle wasn't worth my camera. He was barely worth the film. But uhh, yeah, I was willing to risk it for Stevie. I wonder if I can post video. I captured part of "The Joker" for y'all. And if he's ever around, I highly suggest catching a show. If it weren't for this whole "job" thing, I'd consider becoming a groupie. I mean, not that I'd know how to do that or anything... |
