SUPER MARIO KART UPDATED NEWS!

Sami Çetin's update, 22nd August 2004

TINY ALTERATIONS TO SITE RULES

After thinking carefully and discussing with karters about the situation regarding members joining both rankings (NTSC and PAL), i decided to allow karters to join both rankings is they wish to do so. Of course this means them owning both a PAL and NTSC snes.

The other issue brought up was with Japanese karters. Many of them as you know use nicknames as their handles on Toshi's site, and some of them wish to keep their real names private. I felt that what was important is to preserve the good connections we have between us and the Japanese karters. It will be great in future to have more of them join, but sad to see some of them not interested in joining because of the names situation. So for now I will allow them to use other nicknames when they join as their name if they wish to do so. Although for all members please note that it is still highly recommended that we use our real names because it does make the site look much more formal.

NEW MEMBERS

    Four new members this week!

From Brazil, Oliver has recruited a new karter, Carlos André Salles who has entered the NTSC rankings at #64 in the World, #3 in Brazil and has a Master A overall standard.

On PAL, German Champion Armin Huber has recruited his sister Tanja Huber who is also 5 years old, a few months older than Leyla Hasso who recently joined. Tanja is at SMK Fan standard on PAL and #129 on the PAL World Rankings.

On NTSC we have a recruit from Toshi Miura's site who goes by the name 3.14sy that he uses on Toshi Miura's site. Some of you may have seen his records recently. He has driven a strong set of times that have brought him up to King D overall standard, #40 in the World on NTSC and #3 in Japan on our site.

Also on NTSC and from Japan, Robin Usher makes his entry at #90 with an Apprentice G overall standard. Some of you may know Robin from the MK64 site. Robin has only really had a chance to make first tries on his courses this week, so expect some good improvements from him soon!

    Welcome to the site!
