STAN'S FIRST SET OF WRS!!

Stanley Jeram went for the top times this week as he has finally hit some WRs on NTSC!!! First he went for DP2 which he hit the 5-lap and cam really close on the 1-lap. Still more potential left, Stan may be taking this one further! Next was DP3, result was a tie on the 5-lap and a slight lead now on Travis's Lap WR there, nearly going sub 16" which it will very soon. Stanley Jeram has had a close battle with Kevin Booth this week as they are very close on the SR, Stan's DP1 lap PR that came in later just put him in the lead now for #5 in the World on NTSC. Louis-Philippe Sabbagh is not far ahead.

Stan's PRs:

Donut Plains 1 (1-lap):   0'15"25   King D

Donut Plains 2 (5-lap):   1'29"22    (NTSC WR!!!)    Legend F

                          (1-lap):    0'17"48   Legend D

Donut Plains 3 (5-lap):   1'22"28    (NTSC WR Tie!!!)   King A

                          (1-lap):    0'16"04    (NTSC WR!!!)    Legend G

SR Score:    8.350   =   King B

Keep up the Great Karting Stan!! You are hitting great WRs now!!

KEVIN BOOTH WITH 3 SUPRISES!

Kevin Booth made a sudden return this week and as Jeram had passed Booth, Booth passed him back with these PRs, but Jeram had passed him back again. Some good PRs have been made though, and this has helped Kevin's SR a bit, and there is a lot of potential left on many courses. Another GOD times this week which was on the CI2 fastlap! Kevin has fallen to 6th this week as a result of Stanley's improvements, although Kevin looks ready to reach King A very soon.

Kevin's PRs:

Donut Plains 1 (5-lap):   1'17"72   King F

Mario Circuit 2 (5-lap):   1'19"79   Elite F

Choco Island 2 (1-lap):   0'13"99   GOD

Keep up the great Karting Kevin!!

He tried MC1 and Rainbow this week also, but no PRs just yet. It looks as though we will all have more time to play over the Christmas period as Andreas will. Lots of potential all round with Bowser/D.K.Jr!! Good Luck!!

38/40 GOD

Yeah, I guess you realised it had something to do with me, it has been a while since my last PR (MC1 - 1'00"99?). With Choco Island 1 1-lap, an extremely tough one to do for GOD time left and the hardest of all, Ghost Valley 1 5-lap GOD time I went for Koopa Beach 1 5-lap. At first I hit a PR 0.01 off GOD which I wasn't happy with. So I just had to try again.........

Sami's PR:

Koopa Beach 1 (5-lap):  0'59"18    (PAL WR!!!)    GOD

SR Score:  -2.200   =   GOD

SUPER MARIO KART VIDEO FILES OF SAMI ÇETIN

Some of you may have already heard, but this week I have had all of my Super Mario Kart Time on my 1999 Video Validation tape made into video mpg files for us all to see. We must all thank Ben Miller of the Mario Kart 64 Site for his great help in making these files to be put online as it did take quite a lot of work to do so.

I have made the link to the page from the 'Proof of times Page' to see all of these files. There is more info in there and details, so it would be best to read those first, then to click on any of the files you wish to see. I hope you all enjoy seeing them and that they will be of help to you all strategy-wise in improving your times.

NEWS ARCHIVES MADE BY STANLEY JERAM

This week, Stan has decided that from now on, he will make a news archives page in which the old news will be placed there so that we can go back and see what has happened over the weeks and months. Unfortunately as I have been trying to save as much space for the site as possible, the old news since well back into 1999 has been deleted now, but Stan will be keeping the news from this Autumn 2000 onwards.

As the year 2000 is ending, we will also need somewhere to archive the POW/POM/POY for the years that have finished. Stan has also offered to help out with that. At the moment he has made a geocities page for the archives which has the same format as the site. I have made a link under the 'SMK Extras' section so you can view the pages.

    Thanks Stan!

DAVE CRAWFORD FLYING UP THE STANDARDS!

NTSC Player, Dave Crawford has been able to PR on 40/40 (all boards!) this week! He has really been killing a lot of his standards and has passed 3 Players on the NTSC Players List to become #42! All of his times are now Expert E or higher, he has 33/40 times Semi-Pro G or higher, 12/40 times Pro G or Higher, 7/40 times Master G or higher and so far 2 Elite times! By the look of the change in his standards this week and the fact that he has climbed from Expert E to Semi-Pro B overall in this week alone shows that he may be threatening the Elites sooner than we think! KEVIN BOOTH : 2 WRs, 1 GOD TIME AND OTHER PRs!

This week Kevin Booth has played quite a bit of SMK and has improved an NTSC WR of his on the CI1 1-lap and passed Liem's WR on the 5-lap which really took the lead there!! Two great PRs on KB2 aswell as one of them reaches GOD standard. Other PRs looking great aswell! Kevin is now reaching King A very son and the next set of PRs surely will get him there.

Kevin's PRs:

Bowser Castle 1 (1-lap):   0'17"72   Legend G

Choco Island 1 (5-lap):   0'59"21    (NTSC WR!!!)    Legend D

                          (1-lap):    0'11"64    (NTSC WR!!!)    Legend D

Bowser Castle 3 (1-lap):   0'18"06   Legend C

Koopa Beach 2 (5-lap):   1'03"26   Legend B

                           (1-lap):    0'12"30   GOD

SR Score:    8.125   =   King B

Keep on Karting Kevin!

STAN HITS MC4 5-LAP WR!!

This week Stanley Jeram has made himself another WR taken from Michael Liem on Mario Circuit 4 (5-lap) this time. There is a lot of potential for getting into 1'39" or even 1'38" for some players but the sharp corners are very hard to take, then keeping consistent laps is even harder. A total of 4 PRs including two great improvements on Mario Circuit 3 aswell, resulted in Stan passing through to King A which was very close by and defending his position from Kevin Booth.

Stan's PRs:

Mario Circuit 3 (5-lap):   1'32"56   Legend G

                           (1-lap):    0'18"27   Legend G

Mario Circuit 4 (5-lap):   1'40"28    (NTSC WR!!!)    Legend F

                           (1-lap):    0'19"85   Legend G

SR Score:    7.750   =   King A

Keep up the great Karting!

2 PAL WR IMPROVEMENTS

Yes, me again! I really am meant to be trying Ghost Valley 1 5-lap more than anything else to take Edwin's 5-lap WR and then have a shot at something seemingly impossible, a 3/5 jump on PAL for a sub 1'05". This standard seems too hard to reach as I did try but only succeeded in a few 1/5 jumps so getting 2/5 to go for the WR seems really hard and 3/5 (never done before myself) ridiculous. Well I suppose it can be done, this is SMK and anything can happen if we try and make it happen! Ok, on to what I was successful with this week. Choco Island 1 1-lap is another board in which I am finding the standard too hard to reach but looking at the course and how I am cornering at the moment, I know it can be done. Not just yet though, I was happy for the time being to get my Legend C time there to Legend B for now. I also played some KB2 fastlap, I guess looking at a few of the really fast laps there of the NTSC players, I guess I would have a go to see what I can do here, and took off 0.10 of a second.

My PRs/WRs:

Choco Island 1 (1-lap):   0'11"80    (PAL WR!!!)    Legend B

Koopa Beach 2 (1-lap):   0'12"38    (PAL WR!!!)    GOD
