BJÖRN KÜHN REACHING THE ELITES IN STYLE!!
PAL SMK Champion of Germany, Björn Kühn has made a great number of PRs that have helped him to climb to the Elites. He has cut an amazing 283 points off his SR Score. KB1 had 50 points taken down as he made a nice pair of times with Bowser. Other races including VL1 were also excellent. Björn has so much potential and it will be interesting to see what PRs he makes over the next few weeks. He may be able to reach the Kings very soon, and go further, probably towards the Legends! He has achieved a Legend C time on VL1 (1-lap). Björn is now at Elite B overall standard and has passed 11(!) players to reach #20 on the PAL Players' List!

SIMON LAFLAMME FLIES UP TO THE KINGS!
Our new NTSC member from last week, Simon Laflamme from Canada has just hit a great number of new PRs, covering nearly all the courses. It seems this player has some real potential as he has hit many King times. His CI2 is also still looking good at two Legend E times. Due to the great number of karters on the Elites, Simon has managed to climb a number of positions on the Players' List. He now stands at #15 in the World on NTSC and #5 in Canada. His overall standard is now King G!!

STANLEY JERAM HITTING SOME NICE WRS!!
Stanley Jeram done a lot of damage this week on many courses. He is well on the way to reaching GOD standard overall, and passing Louis-Philippe Sabbagh to achieve the #1 position in both Canada and the World (NTSC). Lots of potential showing on BC2, we may see some even faster times here soon. Rainbow Road WRs are looking very good, and he may be able to make these GOD times soon aswell. BC1 is also getting faster. So far this week he has cut a good few points off the SR, we look forward to next week!

Thibault Ludwig has made some serious PRs this week including many new King times. He had big SR cuts out from races like KB1, VL1, KB2, GV3, VL2. Altogether this moved Thibault up to Elite A on the overall standards and he has also passed some more players and reached #16 on the PAL Players' List!

ARCHIBALD LEFEVRE KEEPING CLOSE TO CI2 WRS!
Archibald has been trying CI2 for the WRs again and is very close, particularly on the 1-lap record. Other than a King A 1-lap on Donut Plains 3, the rest of Archibald's times were all in the Legends, cutting out more SR points and helping him to get closer to Steven Zwartjes and Pierre L'Hoëst. Archibald has now made it to Legend F with an SR just below the 6 mark.

VACATION
Yes, the weeks have gone past so quickly, and I suddenly realise that this is the last update before I go away on vacation. I will be going away on Thursday 19th July to Turkey and returning on 6th August. This could mean that I could still do an early update next Wednesday before I go, but unfortunately I will be busy those last few nights, so I will keep everything to a big update when I get back.
Many of you will wonder what to do with PRs that you make while I am away. For those of you that weren't around last summer, what you have to do is to send PRs as normal as if updates were going on still. The reason for this is because of the POWs. The POW awards on the weeks while I am away will still be accounted for, so if you wish to claim these, then you can send PRs in as you make them. I will check the e-mails and the dates that they were sent to determine who will get each POW. There is however one little change in POW for week 4 this month. In our POW system, we always have 4 POW weeks within the month. Ecah month has usually 30 or 31 days. So sometimes we will find that a POW week 4 may be more in place of the 3rd week. Instead of having a 5th week, we simply use 2 weeks to cover that 1 POW. We have used this system before. Just so you know, that at the end of this month will be a 2 week long POW week 4, that is all you need to know. So while I am away there will be some POWs for you all to go for, so please send in your PRs spread out during the weeks if you make them.
There is little else to be said I think for now. We are expecting maybe a few more players to enter or be recruited, and they may send e-mails while I am away also. Some of you may also be going on vacation aswell during this time, if you do, have a nice time! For the rest who are staying, keep up the great Karting, and I will speak to you all again soon!
NEW PAL MEMBER
We have a new PAL member this week! He was recruited by the Champion of Switzerland, Raphael Braun. The new Karter, Serge Ludescher, also from Switzerland, has played SMK for about a year now and enjoys playing SMK. He has entered the list at Elite D and #23.

STANLEY JERAM RETAKING #1 NTSC!!
Stanley Jeram has done it again! He has made it to #1 on NTSC again. BC3 was the course he played this week and he was successful in taking the 1-lap WR and a nice 1'30" on the 5-lap! He has therefore reached GOD overall standard and has a tie SR with Louis-Philippe Sabbagh. The matchups are 21-19 in Stan's favour, so Stan regains the 1st place title!

SIMON LAFLAMME HITTING MANY PRS
Simon Laflamme has been very active this week in SMK!! By the looks of his PRs he is proving to become of the best Karters! He started off the week with some problems on MC1 which he later solved with a nice fastlap and a high 1'00" 5-lap. He managed to reach a GOD time on VL1 fastlap and many King times throughout his PR'ing. He has made it up to King D as a result of his superb PRs! Unfortunately we encountered a small problem with calculating his position on the NTSC Players' List. He was in an SR tie with Laurens Liem. There will only be one winner out of the two, so the other methods were then used. It turned out that they were 20-20 on matchups. Then I looked at the total times, Laurens won on 5-lap and Simon on the 1-lap totals. So there we had a tie again. As a last resort, I looked at some of the standards achieved, in particular maybe at how many Legend and GOD times each player had. Simon had 6 Legend and 1 GOD while Laurens remains with 7 Legend and 2 GOD. Difficult to differentiate here, but Laurens was left with 11th Place and Simon has climbed to 12th. It will only take one SR point for Simon to pass Laurens. It looks as though he is not stopping there, he looks ready to go for the high Kings and Legends over the next few weeks!

Kelly Malo hit many PRs this week including two GOD times on CI2. Most of his times are getting into the Kings now, and Kelly will have competition with Simon Laflamme and Hue Le. I made a final check of my e-mail and Thibault sent his times in just in just in time. It was good that Thibault's times were added this week because he made some good PRs, including lowering his MC1 times. The 1-lap ties Edwin Peeters!! Many King times on the other courses were made, BC3 5-lap is a difficult race to do, it is currently a Master time, but will be brought up to the overall standard level soon. Thibault has managed to pass two Karters on the PAL List to be put on #14, his overall standard now at King G!!

9 PRs from SMK Champion of Switzerland this week, and these have helped the SR Score quite a bit. His greatest achievement being joining the 1'01"s on MC1 with a nice Legend lap record. FRANCK MAZIÈRES MISSES KING D BY 1 SR POINT
Franck Mazières has driven two impressive Legend records on DP2 this week, particularly the lap record! More King times which were previously Elite have also been driven. As a result of the new PRs, many SR points were taken down, but sadly Franck was one point short of reaching King D overall. He has made some great times in the past weeks, including a new 1/5 jump on GV1 this week, so there is lots of potential that will see Franck into King D, the higher Kings and eventually the Legends.

I managed to receive Archibald's times just in time before the update on Wednesday evening. He has driven a great set of Legend times, including two exceptionally fast times on BC2; the lap record being a GOD time. He mainly focused on the Bowser Castles this week, BC1 of which is also getting very fast and close to the 1'30" barrier. Archibald is now only a point away from Steven Zwartjes, and also within reach of Pierre L'Hoëst!

ANDREAS RUNNELID MAKES 4 PRS
Andreas Runnelid drove 4 PRs this week, these were over CI1, KB2 and GV3. CI1 5-lap is getting better slowly and there is room for improvement, so we will hear more from Andreas there. KB2 lap is looking good as it was reported to have been driven on the first lap. Andreas remains at Elite E but will be passing the next player on the list soon because the SR difference is quite near.
