Sami Çetin's update, 6th March 2005

NEXT UPDATE IN TWO WEEK'S TIME

Next weekend I will be having a few friends visit Uni for a day or two, leaving only part of next Sunday free. I also have a project worth a quarter of my final year mark to hand in the week after that. It's going ok so far, but i'll probably need to use the rest of next Sunday to work on that. After that term ends and im back home for Easter revising for exams (which will be in May). Updates will continue in 2 weeks time on Sunday 20th March 2005. Please keep the PRs coming in during both of the next two weeks though as POW awards are still up for the taking.

PR UPDATES

We had a major battle at the top of the NTSC ranks this week! With L'Hoëst's entry to NTSC a lot of the top karters were competing for their positions. Goto ended up losing a few places as Chris Balch hit 3 great WRs, two on MC4 with 1'33"52 and 0'18"27 and a new lap on DP3 of 0'15"06! Martin Morissette fought back with some great times on many courses reaching the -10 SR Score but in the end just falling short of Balch's mark. Both karters however passed Japanese Champion, Masakazu Goto. It didn't end there as Oliver Segarra Gonzalez of Brazil joined in the battle after his break from SMK with two PRs that brought him a bit ahead again, including ahead of Laflamme to #3! The battle continues next week. WRs on PAL this week included a fast 0'14"09 DP1 best lap from Karel van Duijvenboden.

Other NTSC activity included a return from Robin Usher of Japan to climb a bit further on the NTSC rankings. He drove 13 new PRs with Bowser making a good leap to #108 on NTSC. In Canada, Jonathan Girard reached GOD standard with some strong GV3 times and two amazing records for MC2 with the long boost. He is now ranked #14 on NTSC and #6 in Canada. Pier-Yves Lemire who joined last week has been busy hitting many new records and so far has climbed to Master C overall standard, #80 on NTSC and #21 in Canada. He may be reaching the Elites very soon! Jason Fraser had success with the MC2 long boost fastlap gaining him some points. He is now ranked #12 on NTSC.

On PAL, in Germany, Sebastian Stellmacher's latest PRs have cut off yet another big chunk of SR Score placing him up at #10 on PAL, very close to Videkull. German Champion, Armin Huber sent in a KB1 5-lap improvement. In Switzerland, Raphael Braun made a return hitting quite a few NBT times that cut a lot of SR score down. He climbed to #13 on PAL with his new records. In the Netherlands, Gerard Roodhorst hit some super fast Non-NBT DP1 records that are WRs for the Non-NBT site and a CI1 flap improvement. In France, Antoine Olivier reaches #30 on PAL and Legend F overall standard with his latest PRs, some of them with NBT. William Jonas is making stronger PRs each week as this set hit higher standards. He has been working on the long boost a bit with MC2 and others which are moving further into the Legends. He is now Legend D overall standard, #22 on PAL and #11 in France. Clement Papon hits two PRs and reaches Legend A overall standard.
