Sami Çetin's update, 7th May 2006

New Members

      Geoffrey Ewbank from Belgium has recruited a karter to PAL; please welcome Bertrand du Bois who enters the PAL World Rankings at #80 and #4 in Belgium with an overall standard of King G.

      On NTSC, we also have a new member from U.S.A. Please welcome Chris Morton who enters the NTSC World Rankings at #97 with an Elite B overall standard.

PR Updates

      There have been a few new WRs on both sides this week with French Champion Pierre L'Hoëst taking CI2 fastlap with 0'12"89. On NTSC Karel van Duijvenboden hit WRs on MC1 lap of 0'11"11 and BC2 fastlap with NBT also down to 0'19"47! Chris Balch also took a WR this week with 1'15"33 on DP3 5-lap! NTSC activity in Brazil included two fast NBT PRs from Guilherme Arantes and some improvements from Anderson Barbosa dos Santos. Anderson has reached King B standard and #62 on NTSC. In U.S.A, Tyler Worley and David Smith have continued shaving off time with NBT. David has hit GOD -3 this week. Ryan DeMaster sent in a lot of PRs and has cut his way through to Semi-Pro G overall and #155 on NTSC. Joe Bernier improves his KB2 lap cutting some SR Score.

      In Germany, Armin Huber also continued some NBT work on NTSC with good results at GOD -3 and a climb to #25. Matthias Mann played both PAL and NTSC with a few good cuts on each side. On PAL Tanja Brönnecke set some solid CI2 times and has climbed to #120 on PAL and #16 in Germany. Mario Brüser made 4 PRs and a climb to #48 and King A overall standard. In the Netherlands, Gerard Roodhorst has continued his intense Non-NBT DP3 driving while Leon Kuijf sent in several PRs with a good climb to King D overall standard and #63 on PAL. In Australia, Eric Scott has come very close to reaching Ademir's SR with 4 new PRs and a climb to #56 so far. Gene Tagliabue improved a few times this week cutting a bit of SR. In Belgium, Geoffrey Ewbank sent in a couple of PRs that cut enough points to place him at #2 in Belgium and #71 on PAL. In the U.K, Sami Çetin takes down MC3 lap a bit further and Matthew McCarthy sets 2 PRs. Chris Clark makes some very good NBT cuts this week on MC1 after learning the technique quickly. His DP1 was also more impressive as he cuts several SR points. Chris has reached #35 on PAL. In France, William Jonas mainly worked on lap records with several strong NBT times. Anthony Pichard climbs to Legend D overall standard and #29 on PAL with 5 PRs. Matthias Boucher makes a sub 51 second PR on VL2.

New Members

      We have 3 new members this week!

      On PAL version from Sweden we have Björn Eklund who joins the PAL World Rankings at #91 and also #7 in Sweden with an overall standard of Elite B.

      On NTSC we have a new karter from U.S.A. Dan Hoernemann also has many fast times on his first entry to the site and enters the NYSC World Rankings at #87 with King G overall standard.

      From Brazil, Guilherme Arantes recruited a new karter, Eduardo Feitosa Filho who has driven all of his times on NTSC to Semi-Pro A overall standard and enters NTSC at #150.

PR Updates

      Pierre L'Hoëst has made a fantastic lap World Record on MC1 with 0'11"48 this week. Karel van Duijvenboden also hit more WRs with a course time on CI2 of 1'06"04 and a lap tie of 0'12"89*. He also hit two more WRs on DP3 of 1'17"62 and 0'15"03.

      On NTSC we saw a lot of activity from Brazil, with Guilherme Arantes destroying several times and passing Jamie for #5 on NTSC. Anderson Barbosa dos Santos made many new times over the courses and laps and isnow King A overall standard and #59 on NTSC. Luis Felipe Ferrari is also making great progress with 12 very strong PRs and a climb to #41 on NTSC and Legend D overall. In Canada, Gabriel Laflamme drove a strong set of PRs and has moved up to #98 on NTSC and Elite B overall standard. There were several active karters in U.S.A, with Tyler Worley hitting some of the fastest times and now hitting GOD -8 and #15 on NTSC. David Smith made a VL1 time cutting an SR point. Chris Morton has started sending us his first new PRs and is making good progress so far as he hits King G overall standard and #91 on NTSC. Jason Foss set some KB2 PRs cutting some points down. Adam Wilkinson climbs to #101 and Elite C standard with his latest 8 PRs falling into the Elites and Kings. Ryan DeMaster worked on several courses this week with a climb to #156 on NTSC and Semi-Pro F overall standard. Ryan Arends drives several new times with a few going up to Legend. He is now ranked at King G overall and #88 on NTSC. Armin Huber from Germany played more NTSC this week and has been reaching his potential further as he climbs to GOD -5 and #18 on NTSC.

      On PAL, in the Netherlands, Leon Kuijf made 7 PRs and has passed some karters to reach #60 on PAL and King D standard. Gerard Roodhorst drove some fast Non-NBT PRs on MC2 this week. In Germany, Tanja Brönnecke made big cuts to her MC2 times also and is now Master C overall standard. British Champion, Sami Çetin has been picking up the pace well on NBT as he hits some great PRs on MC3 and some fairly good attempts so far at MC4. Sami has climbed back up to #4 on PAL and is GOD -11. In Australia, Eric Scott has finally passed Ademir to become Champion of Australia. His result was made from some good cuts to his VL2 PRs. In Belgium, Geoffrey Ewbank has been working on his GV1 strategy with some cuts to bring him to #70 on PAL. In France, William Jonas reaches close to GOD -10 with a few PRs this week. Pierre Coste continues his NBT work on some tracks where he cuts further SR score. Antoine Olivier cuts his times well, including MC1 NBT which is reaching a big barrier. Harold Christensen set some fast NBT times and has cut his SR to GOD -9.

New Member

      We have a new member to NTSC this week. Josh Torrens from Australia has karted on NTSC and has joined the World Rankings at #122 with an overall standard of Master A.

PR Updates

      Karel van Duijvenboden has been hitting several World Records this week on PAL with the following great new times: Mario Circuit 1 0'58"72 and lap tie of 0'11"48, Donut Plains 1 1'11"87 and 0'13"91, Ghost Valley 1 lap of 0'12"12 and two WRs on Choco Island 2 of 1'05"88 and 0'12"86. On NTSC, Joe Bernier made a few PRs including a 56 second MC1 U.S Record and a new World Record on Choco Island 1 5-lap of 0'53"68.

      On NTSC, there was a lot of heavy activity from U.S.A; Kristopher Lamp presented a long list of improvements and climbed up to Elite B overall standard and #97 on NTSC. Dan Hoernemann who recently joined has sent in some strong PRs and climbs to King D and #72. Ryan DeMaster makes a climb to Semi-Pro D with 9 PRs. David Smith made a small PR this week for BC2 5-lap. Tyler Worley made some very strong NBT PRs including a U.S Record for KB2 1-lap! Tom Butler from Canada returned to SMK with improvements on most courses and hits Master A overall and #123 on NTSC. In Brazil, Luis Felipe Ferrari made 6 PRs climbing to Legend C overall standard and #38 on NTSC. Anderson Barbosa dos Santos is also making great progress with strong PRs taking him up to #56 on NTSC and Legend G. Guilherme Arantes sends us an MC4 NBT PR. Armin Huber has also played some more NTSC this week with times getting ever stronger as he hits GOD -7 and #17 on NTSC.

      On PAL from the Netherlands Gerard Roodhorst made two fastlap records. In Germany, Tanja Brönnecke cut some good SR with some MC1 PRs. In Sweden, Björn Eklund has been karting a lot with some great times so far. Björn is now #80 on PAL and King G. British Champion, Sami Çetin has picked up on more NBT as he finally takes MC1 to his long time goal of sub 1'00" along with a decent lap and some stronger NBT MC4 PRs. U.K's 3rd fastest karter Chris Clark has also been working on NBT with more success on MC1, DP1 and a few other Non-NBT tracks. He has now reached Legend E overall standard and #33 on PAL. In France, Antoine Olivier made 5 NBT times, the GV1 looking great and Harold Christensen drove a BC3 fastlap. William Jonas drove some fast DP1 NBT PRs and has reached GOD -10 SR Score. Pierre Coste has climbed to #20 on PAL with 4 new PRs. Julien Holmière drove a great lap on VL2 with island jumping. Matthias Boucher also hit VL2 with a great 5-lap and fastlap. Pierre L'Hoëst drove some fast times very close to WRs and has now reached GOD -17 on PAL.

      Hi everyone, some of you have seen this already, but I have made a special announcement this week regarding the future of the SMK Time Trial World Records Site.
