NEW MEMBERS
Another new member from the U.K this week. Darren Coates has sent us all of his PAL times and has entered the PAL Players' List at Pro B overall and #74. It turns out that Darren lives very close to many other karters. After checking the statistics, he is also #3 in Croydon (Borough of London). Welcome to the site!
PR UPDATES
This week Simon Laflamme had a shot at the NTSC MC4 WRs after some success with sand-boosting. He now has new WRs at 1'35"84 and 0'18"59! Louis-Philippe Sabbagh also had a go again with the fastlap and cut it down a little. Aaron Miarka worked on 12 PRs this week cutting some of his Legend times nearer to GOD and pushing his weaker times to higher levels. He has now reached Legend G overall and is #23 on NTSC. Just ahead, Tommy Dickinson improved some courses to get further in on Legend F standard. Ray Bergstrom worked only on Donut Plains 2 landing a strong Legend 5-lap and a GOD fastlap. Dean Barnhart cut a lot of SR points down this week with his efforts on all round courses that have seen him through to Master E overall standard and #56 on NTSC.
Over on PAL, our recent British entry, Jamie Stirzaker has started making his first set of new PRs; 8 PRs of which have helped him get much closer to the King standards overall. He has passed 2 karters on his way to make him #47 on PAL. Matthew McCarthy kept active again in KB1 cutting a few more points down there. 3 Dutch karters kept very active this week. Karel van Duijvenboden has been hitting new marks for tracks on all cups, making higher King times including two Legends for GV2. This resulted in a King D overall standard for him. Daan Wegener improved a few of his weaker times and passed McLoughlin for #66 on PAL. Dirk Wegener also hit some of his weak spots to bring his standard up. He was successful as he landed on Pro B and passed Marcus Littlejohns for #75 on PAL.
Over in Australia, Andrew Pinchen improved DP2 well to get him up to Semi-Pro E overall. John Neville also made his DP2 time a lot faster along with a few MC courses. John passed Hakan Çetin and Joseph Harakis for #98 on PAL and Advanced A overall. Sébastien Holmière, one of the fastest of France improved his Mario Circuit 4 time this week.

BACK TO UNIVERSITY
The summer has gone quickly but the time has come. I will be returning to University in Canterbury on Monday 15th September. It will take a little while to get settled in as i have to register, sort out my job etc. But updates should continue as normal when ive got things set up. Please note that as i will not have internet access from the house i will be staying in, the uploading for updates will have to be done from the Univerity library/one of the college computer rooms. This also means that I will not have access to AIM or MSN while i am away. I will obviously still be checking emails as normal, so you can contact me there.
BEN BRYCE AND PAL TOP 100s
After speaking with Ben Bryce this week, we discovered that his records are actually set on NTSC, not PAL as he bought an NTSC snes years ago. As it is better for him to compete on PAL, he is going to look for a PAL snes and PAL smk. Meanwhile, i have agreed with him to remove him from the PAL lists and top times. When he has a PAL snes and smk and has set all times again then he will be back to join us again.
A smaller note; i have left the PAL top 100s to 99 people on each list because of time this week, lots of packing shopping etc for Uni. We are likely to have a new PAL member soon as i have spoken to a few recently. That will fill up the list to 100 again. If we do not have a new PAL member soon, i will put those players' times in the 100th places back.
Anyway we look forward to having you back on the site again soon Ben!
PR UPDATES
Wouter Wynen from Belgium made a return to SMK this week after quite a long time of inactivity! He has been hitting strong PRs here and there so far making his way now into Elite C overall standard and #55 on PAL. Karel van Duijvenboden has been having a great week on Bowser Castle 3 as he pushes it to the limits with a GOD time on the fastlap and a great 5-lap to go with it. French Champion, Pierre L'Hoëst improved VL2 (both 5-lap and 1-lap). Matthew McCarthy also hit VL2 well this week and was not too far behind Pierre on it! Jamie Stirzaker has improved his weaker VL2 along with Rainbow Road this week finally making it to King G overall standard. He is already on the way to King F. Also from the U.K, Darren Coates has improved a few of his PRs including MC1 nearly going to 1'04". This has pushed him up to Pro A standard overall. With some more improvements he can reach the Masters.
On NTSC, Ray Bergstrom was setting many new PRs including CI1, the VLs.. Some of these were his slower times and he is gaining the points there now with faster records. Ray has climbed to Legend F overall and is catching Tommy Dickinson, Travis Nelson and Nathan Stinson. Dean Barnhart improved 5 of his times, mainly laps that have landed him an overall standard of Master D.

UPDATES FROM UNIVERSITY
I have arrived at Canterbury, settled in, got my job sorted. Updates will continue but i will not have much access to the internet, i have to use the University Library or College rooms. Otherwise everything should work out ok. Just remember that I will not be available on AIM or MSN until Christmas Holidays.
PR UPDATES
NTSC karters have been testing out more of the boosting and taking down WRs this week. Martin Morissette returns and spends a lot of time on Mario Circuit 1 to break another barrier of 59"00 with boosts. He has made new WRs that stand at 0'58"69 and 0'11"48! Can anyone take them down further? Earlier in the week, Tommy Dickinson held the lap record at 11"73 before it was beaten. Tommy did however play a lot of other courses hitting other GOD times and fast Legend standards. He climbed to Legend E overall, #16 in the world on NTSC and #7 in U.S.A. Aaron Miarka played a lot of courses setting some GOD times and hitting a sub 10 second lap on VL2! He is getting closer to Legend F now. Simon Laflamme had a shot at MC1 with sand boosting aswell and made a lap close to the WR. Dean Barnhart reduced his SR score further down with 5 PRs this week.
PAL karting activity has also been interesting with Karel van Duijvenboden taking BC3 even further and hitting a GOD lap on MC1 with some boosting. Karel climbed to King C overall and #33 on PAL. Raphael Braun made another appearance this time on KB1 with some faster records with the fast speed strategy; he has made it to Legend B overall and #10 on PAL again. Over in the U.K, Matthew McCarthy worked hard on GV2 with Legend A and GOD times for course and lap respectively. He passed Gerard Roodhorst for #12 on PAL! Jamie Stirzaker worked on his weaker VL times and now they are much stronger. His SR cut has taken him up to King F overall standard, #42 in the World on PAL and #8 in the U.K! Darren Coates improved 3 of his GV records cutting his SR closer bit by bit to reaching the Master standards overall. He will be there very soon when more PRs are done. Arno van den Barselaar of the Netherlands returned to SMK this week with a long list of records that have seen him up to Master D overall and #68 on PAL. Over in Australia, John Neville hit 5 PRs and made it to the target of Expert G overall standard!
