TEA TREE OIL
Tea tree oil (melaleuca alternifolia) comes from the leaves of a tropical plant that is found in Australia. Although it doesn't grow in most of the United States, it has made a beachhead on our shores. Tea tree oil is everywhere -- in underarm deodorants, first aid remedies, moisturizing lotions and a host of other products. It is popular with our herbalists because of its powerful antiseptic properties. Good for everything from athlete's foot to earache and gum inflammation, it is very useful for skin infections; a few drops of die oil can be applied directly to an infected area, three times daily. CAUTION: Don't ingest this oil directly. ACTIONS Aromatharapy CONDITIONS ESSENTIAL OIL First Aid with Tea Tree PETS and ANIMALS |
