Habitat:

Garfish gather in huge schools over sandy bottoms with think lush
weed cover. They are also found over shallow reefs. Berley
should be used to bring garfish and hold them in the area where
they are found.

Tackle:
* Line: 1-3kg
* Hooks: Size 12 Mustad long shanks.
* Reel: Diawa Regals (anything small)
* Rig: Suspend hook 30cm-2m under a light pencil or
-
waggler float.
Quality: Garfish are a very good table fish but are considered too good of a bait for the table. Fresh garfish are a number one bait in Port Phillip Bay for snapper.
