Size:
1 to 10kg. Can grow to 15kg !
Best Baits:
Pilchards, Garfish, Squid, Couta, Flathead Fillets, Tuna and Mullet. Fresh is Best !!!
Habitat:
Snapper inhabit offshore and inshore reefs, estuaries, harbors, bays, gravel beds, rock walls and beaches. Snapper are a bottom dweller and tend to hold and feed over very rough reef and in deep holes. Smaller fish invade estuary waters but larger specimens are mainly taken in deeper, offshore water.
Tackle:
          * Line: 5-10kg
          * Hooks: 2/0 to 6/0 Mustad Suicide Pattern
          * Reel: Shimano Baitrunner 4500
          * Rig: 2 hook rig on a 1m 30lb trace. One hook tied, one
             running free. The other end goes to a roller or ball
             bearing swivel. Attach your sinker to an ezi-rig sinker
             clip.
Quality: Most of the time they hit the baits hard and run hard and deep. Common characteristics are big head shakes. Snapper always have a little left in them when boat side so beware.
When: All year. Mainly mid September - late March.
