The Daily Pixel
Named after my daily newletter to my email pals, this blog is basically a diary of my life! How exciting!

Hello, my peoples! I have a story to tell! On Wedensday, there was a huge strom, and we got the brunt of the blow. All of the girls were stayong in Tall Timbers, the newest of the units, and we had a huge strom coming. The girls stayed on the end in bunkhouses, so we had to move them all the the center room, and that was a hssle with 35 girls. They all got scared, but we told them it was a giant sleepover.

So they are all in there, settling down, and the couselors are on the other side (there are two sides) in the meeting room sleeping (because there are no counselor rooms) and the weaather radio keeps going off, and telling us that there is a severe thunderstorm warning and stuff. I open the door to get the mop to clean up the met footprints from all the girls coming through, and of course the mops have to be outside, and a huge crack of thunder blams and I yelp. Foprtunatly, it was funny, but we are all about to fall asleep when the radio warns that the storm in in our area. So all of the couselors had to go and sleep in the same room as the girls on the hardwood floor. I couldn't get to sleep for like an hour b/c the storm was freaking me out.

Then, just as I am about to fall asleep, the fire alrm goes off in the room we are in! I jump up, and all of the couselors lead the girl out. We can't take them to the storm shelter, b/c it's wet and one side won't open. It's still poruing outside, so we have no choice but the put them in our room for a while. They leave all their stuff in the room and walk across the deck to the couselor section.

When the firefighter get there, they see there was obviously no fire. The determine that we have fauly alarms, even in the underground storm shelter which was screaming while we slept. So it's unsafe for us to keep the girls in a building with faulty arlarms, but we can't move them. So the caretakert, Ed, is so nice, and decides that he will stay up all night so we don't have to move! YAY!

So after the firefighter left, all the girls fioled back into the meeting room, and fell asleep instantly. I wish I could have done that. We stiull have to sleep on the hardwood floor, but we got through it. We were so tired, and a bunchu of volenteers graciously came out the next day so all the couselors could get some extra sleep. That same day during Me Time, the alram company came out and fixed all the alarms. Everything worked out fine, and I have a great story to tell, too!

Well, that's it for now! I hope that doesn't happen again! Hope to see you soon!!!
