[Opening Sketch: Rudy Guilliani Political Tapes] Premise: Former NYC Mayor Rudy Guilliani records his parts in political ads. My Thoughts: This was okay. It wasn't the best way to start off the show. t was more of sketch to air at the end or after Update or something. Grade: C+ Quote: "Heinrick Himler is my hero." ----------------------------------- [Monologue: Eric MacCormack] Premise: Eric MacCormack gives us his monologue. My Thoughts: I loved that picture with Kattan and Paula Pell as husband & wife. Grade: A- Quote: "Boobie in the morning, boobies in the spring, boobies in my face, boobies are everything. Boobies!" ----------------------------------- [The Bachelor/Amber] Premise: Amber tries to capture the heart of The Bachelor. My Thoughts: I like amber, but something was different about her this time. I *LOVED* the "Last Chance Tuesdays" thing. It's very true. Grade: B+ Quote: "Thanks for holding my flower for me, Bethany" ----------------------------------- [Game Night] Premise: A wife experiences crazy anger fits when her husband can't play trivia games correctly. My Thoughts: This killed me. Rachel lost her mind completely and MacCormack just sat there, rocking back and forth as if he feared for his life. It was hilarious! I hope this becomes a new character for Rachel. Grade: A+ Quote: "Who the balls put Felix Mendilson?" ----------------------------------- [Political Ads] Premise: A parody of all the negative political ads we've been seeing lately. My Thoughts: My local election race is happening just like this. I expect them to start saying "Stop raping the poor." The probably will soon. Grade: B- Quote: "Tell her to stop frightening seniors." ----------------------------------- [American Morning: A Love Story] Premise: Paula Zahn falls in love with her co-anchor, on the air, only minutes after they first meet. My Thoughts: What's this? Have I stayed up so late so that my eyes are playing tricks on me? Is that really Tina Fey ... in a non-update sketch? It is! Yay! Now, if she could only get a character going for herself it's be perfect. Grade: a- Quote: "Are we in love?" ----------------------------------- [Political Ads part 2] Premise: A parody of all the negative political ads we've been seeing lately. My Thoughts: Is SNL going to have repeating fake commercials every week now? Grade: B- Quote: "Stop asking voters to call Andy Talarico to tell him to stop urging them to call Ellen Frankel." ----------------------------------- [Music; Jay-Z featuring Lenny Kravitz] Premise: Jay-Z and Lenny Kravitz perform. My Thoughts: Did anybody else notice the RUN DMC shirt Jay-Z had on? I thought that was very considerate and respectful. Grade: C+ Quote: None ----------------------------------- [Weekend Update] Premise: Fake news. My Thoughts: That Gene Shalet thing was just stupid. Does Jimmy have something against Sesame Street? Baby K, I could have done without him. The jokes were all right. Nothing special. Grade: B+ Quote: "In happier news, Christina Aguilera's "Filthy Hot Dog Wagon" is going strong." ----------------------------------- [Bullhorn] Premise: A man keeps interrupting his court hearing by playing his bullhorn. My Thoughts: This was ... original. Grade: C+ Quote: "Mr. Marshall? You have a second bullhorn, don't you?" ----------------------------------- [Political Ads part 3] Premise: A parody of all the negative political ads we've been seeing lately. My Thoughts: Okay, I'm sick of them now. Grade: D+ Quote: "Fact: Andy Talarico's home phone number is 201-555-0199." ----------------------------------- [Z105 All-morning] Premise: A morning radio "crew" run a muck at the expense of somebody running for election. My Thoughts: Something tells me this was inspired by Jimmy's appearance on Howard Stern. Grade: B- Quote: "It was an all-you-can-eat-munakie-buffet!" ----------------------------------- [John Hancock Insurance] Premise: A commercial for an insurance company. My Thoughts: I wish there commercials were better. Grade: C+ Quote: "John Hancock Insurance: Frightening your family since 1862." ----------------------------------- [Music: Jay-Z featuring Lenny Kravitz and Beyonce] Premise: Jay-Z performs with Lenny Kravitz and Beyonce. My Thoughts: So, she's just Beyonce now? I thought she had a last name. Grade: C+ Quote: None ----------------------------------- [Jackass: The Musical] Premise: A musical based on the hit movie "Jackass: The Movie." My Thoughts: I liked this one. I expected MacCormack to do a lot of singing and he did. Nice touch with the American flag. Grade: A- Quote: "I'm a party boy and I like to dance, just get me out of these break away pants." ----------------------------------- [Conflicting Stories At A Bar] Premise: A man tries to tell a story, while the bartender behind him tells a story that conflicts with what he says. My Thoughts: so, are Tracy and Maya a little team now? I love them both. But if you're going to do a running gag every week, shouldn't it be funny? Grade: D+ Quote: "When all of a sudden comes this white bitch. You may know her as Jennifer Love Hewiit." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This episode was okay. But it really went downhill after Update. Best sketch: Game Night, American Morning: A Love Story, Jackass: The Musical Worst Sketch: Conflicting Stories, Political Ads Weirdest Sketch: Bullhorn, Z105 All-morning Most Seen Player: Rachel Dratch Least Seen Player: Fred Armisen Next Week: Nia Vardalos with musical guest Eve. That should be a good episode. I bet Nia and Tina will get along. Both writers turned actresses and both had a very Greek wedding.
