Kids, we just have to learn to accept this. Like one of those stories on Dateline where a family member suffers a horrible accident and becomes a burden on everybody. Sure, they pretend to be happy, but they're dead inside, they're dead. And that'll be our lives.
JANUARY 2ND, 2006

Ahh New Years Eve, if my memory serves me correctly, it was a day full of cursing, vandalism, theft, trespassing, trafficking and 'Whenever you go to a hotel, be sure to bring a towel. You never know where a hotel towel has been'.
The day, December 31st, all started when I left my house at 10:50 to meet up with Anna at Yagoona and for once I was early. We decided the day before we were to go to Burwood to watch a movie. We got on a train and realised we were going backward so we hopped off and got on a train that went straight to Burwood. At Burwood, We saw Harry and stopped for a little chat then headed off to Westfield. We went straight to Greater Union bought our tickets for 'Fun With Dick and Jane' with still an hour to spare.
We decided to get something to drink. We searched up and down for the food courts and then we sat down at Gloria Jeans and each drank a Arnotts Tim Tam Iced Chocolate. Anna got a small, I got a regular and still managed to finish before her, she didn't even finish it. We then went into Myer where we looked at a bunch of stuff and ran around with Spiderman Web. It was time for us to watch the movie now. The movie was pretty craptacular, I only cracked up at one scene where Jim Carrey cross dresses. After the movie, I called Susan up asking her about that night and a change of plans. Then we walked around Westfield for a while, into K Mart and soon left.
We took the train back to Sefton and managed to wait for about half an hour for a train. We finally arrived at Yagoona where I bought a N Y E Ticket and we saw Rapa, Kimberly and such. The train then arrived.
I said farewell to Anna as the train sped along the tracks never to see her again till the new year, I arrived at Lidcombe to meet up with Alan. The train ride took forever because I was by myself and doing nothing. Met up with "Gangster" Alan, our train was to arrive in 6 minutes and Alan was thirsty. We power walked to Platform 4 and bought drinks and Chilli Kettle at the shop because Alan didn't have change. Got on the train and went to Circular Quay, regularly getting calls or calling Susan to see what was up.
We waited at the wharfs for about half an hour and rang Susan up. She said they hadn't even reached Lidcombe yet. So, we ended up walking to The Opera House to look for a place to sit for the 9 o'clock fireworks display. The Opera House was packed full so we walked back down and found a place amongst palm trees and stood there, waiting for the fireworks. Alan being the gangster he is, squatted. The fireworks were alright but I told Alan to wait for the midnight fireworks because he wanted to go home. I got a phone call during the fireworks, it was Susan telling us to come back down to the wharfs.
So, after the fireworks we walked back down and meet up with Blake, Michelle, Natasha, Sandra, Susan and Ray. Soon after Vaughan came and we talked of smuggling alcohol into the vicinity. We lost Ray and after many unanswered calls the girls resorted to screaming out "Raymond!" in hope to find him. They soon took a different approach, they agreed Susan was the lightest and she hopped onto Vaughan's shoulders. She screamed out "Raymond!" again but all she got was weird looks from strangers. They then decided to split up and within a few minutes they came back with nothing. We decided to go through the security check without Ray and as we queued we saw him on the other side. We made it through the security check alright with only a bottle of Midori being confiscated.
We meet at the other side and walked to the Opera House where Harry and Other (forgot his name) were waiting. We queued up again to enter The Sydney Opera House. After that security check we finally took the bottles of Smirnoff out of our pants and pockets and began to look for a place to sit. We walked around in circles before finally settling down on steps next to the Opera House. Soon after taking the cards out, it was determined that whoever lost this game would have to "cream" the girls (which included Harry). Vaughan won so Blake, Ray and Other successfully "creamed" the girls. The girls stood up and ran after Ray. Soon everybody ended up having shaving cream on them and we trashed the steps of The Sydney Opera House. The girls wiping it on the glass windows. Looking at the carnage I was surprised to see it wasn't on the news the following day. Police Officers soon came, one calling us 'fucking idiots' as he struggled to climb a reinforcing gate.
The girls, Harry and Other returned from the toilets and we all decided to move, we walked over to the other side of the Opera House where these people were using themselves as barricades so nobody would get through. Michelle, Sandra and Ray were successful getting through but they blocked Natasha, Susan, Alan, Blake, Harry, Other and myself. They refused to let anybody else in but Ray came back to retrieve Natasha and Susan and I squeezed through too. Soon Alan, Blake and Other also came through leaving Harry out alone. After all that we decided to leave, as we left I could hear bitchy remarks coming from the "human barricade". Suck shit to them because we found an even better view and it wasn't as packed.
We counted down the minutes till the fireworks then by our time the 10 second countdown was early by a minute. Everybody chanted 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 then screamed. I don't know what they were screaming at but it turned into a sort of madness. There was hugging, yelling, screaming, jumping and more. The ending was cool with all places being lit up by the fireworks. Seeing the fireworks, it made me see how great it was to be Australian... Smoke soon fell and it was a rush to get out of the place.
After a while of pushing and shoving we made our way to Pyrmont Park but first stopped at a Mc Donald's where it was packed. We bought our crap and stood outside for a while. When we realised some were inside eating we soon went in too. There we managed to trash another place with chips and nuggets being thrown. Sandra, the main culprit.
We then made a very long journey to some fancy office place on Darling Harbour. It felt as if we were trespassing, nobody was around, it was quiet and the escalators were still on. We walked up and around and soon entered the toilets. The girls took forever so the boys tried to play a prank on the girls. Their attempt only managed to scare Michelle and we left and sat at some lounges. Just when we were getting comfortable a security guard comes up to us and says "Get off the table, No smoking in here and can we have the Christmas decorations back". We soon left and He told us to leave so we did and we continued our search for Pyrmont Park.
We managed to walk to Pyrmont Park but Michelle's friends weren't there so she gave them a call as the rest of us sat in a circle on the floor. Then Michelle made a deal with everybody if they were to come from the left we would all stay out for the night and go to the beach in the morning but if they came from the right we would all go home. In the end, it didn't matter as we walked to some wharf. We sat there doing nothing for a while then Sandra, Susan, Alan and I left. We walked back to Star City and Sandra asked some police men where the nearest monorail or tram was. He told us there was a tram station at Star City. We waited for the tram as we ate Burger Rings. We got on the tram and were surprised we didn't have to pay for a ticket. We got off at Central Station and got a train back home. On the train back we talked about the night that was and the train suddenly stopped. We joked it was terrorist then some stranger said there were about 6 Arabs down stairs, we all froze but he laughed and told us he was joking.
We got the train to Chester Hill, Alan took it to Villawood. We waited for a taxi and there was nothing so Susan tried calling them but the line was busy. She kept trying and trying till finally it rang. Just then a taxi pulled up, Susan hung up and we got inside. Got home at about 4:30 and slept till 10:30. Then, I had work the very next day from 6:00 till 9:30.
