Yes it is official! Mcfarlane Toys are releasing figures from the hit TV
Series Lost. Series 1 will be released around the same time that Season 3 premiers.
Series 1 will feature six fan-favourite characters from the series' first
season: Jack, Kate, Locke, Charlie, Hurley and Shannon (above). Series 2 will also
feature another six characters (Desmond, Sawyer, Mr. Eko, Jin and Sun) and has been announced for September 15 for the States.
Each
6-inch Lost figurine will have a detailed base and photographic backdrop,
capturing an episode specific moment in the character's story. In addition, each
package will include a voice chip and a detailed prop replica central to the characters back
story, enabling fans to "own" a piece of the show's mythology.
Also McFarlane will sell deluxe
boxed sets that include dioramas of "Lost" locations. Series 1
features The Hatch (above) and Series 2 will feature the Oceanic Flight 815 Crash Site.
There is not as yet a release date for Australian fans.
A Lost video game (appropriately named Lost: The Video Game) has also been announced, to be developed by Ubisoft, for video game consoles and PC, which is expected to be released sometime in 2007.
ABC's hit television
creeper "Lost" is following in the footsteps of other small-screen
blockbusters like "CSI" and "24" and is finding new life in the gaming
world. Though still in the very early stages of development, Touchstone Television and game maker Ubisoft announced today that a deal to make the game is final and that it's now in the hands of the programming geniuses at Ubisoft's Montreal studios. "With our Montreal studios involved you can expect an extremely high level game," said Pascal Bonnet, director of licensing for Ubisoft "'Lost' is a hit all over the world and we want to bring the 'Lost' universe to the next level." Bonnet says that less than two weeks ago at the video game industry's biggest trade show — the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 — he met with the show's producers, including co-creator J.J. Abrams, to discuss the project. Bonnet wouldn't share much, but did say the idea is to create a video game as unique and engaging as the unconventional TV show. "Lost" creators J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof and producers from the show will serve as executive producers on the game. Source: Get 'Lost' n New Video Game |
