Game 4: L 0-2

Player of the Game: Dave Yu

.Special teams and special goaltending....with this, the Ice Transplants were not able to win their Broomball game. The AEPI 3 wrecked "GLORY" from them, thanks to Brian Blum. Blum scored in the beginning of the second half and the added clinched this victory with an empty net goal with 7.8 seconds remaining to capped of 2-0 Monday night win in the last game of the regular season.

Before the game, captain Daniel Pan, along with Ernst Lamothe and Tim Ohara were in a tough soccer match. Because of their win, all three of them were riding high, trying to use that same energy and applying it to the broomball game. This worked to Vince Cannistraro's plan...in an attempt to generate some offense...send everyone forward.

With everyone up, Cannistraro stood alone, however, he was up to that challenge. "This is my Alamo. I will defend it to the last...frick I forgot my flag"..Cannistraro proclaimed to himself. He stopped 15 shots, including six spectular kick saves in the second half. "That goalie was amazing" said Samuel Karp. "He made some unbelievable saves...we could have been up four or five goals. We could have used him in our previous games."

However, Ice Transplants' Dave Yu, who suffered an upper body injury during the first two games left in the regular season, was very effective, playing with alot of emotion and heart. "Remember the Alamo....I mean Stanley Wang (who couldn't play in the game)" Yu shouted. For Yu,it was a successful turnaround from Games 1 and 2. He was sharp all throughout the game especially in the second period when the more aggressive Ice Transplants held a 10-2 shots advantage.

Everyone on the Ice Transplants had numerous scoring opportunities in the first half. After an outstanding play by Tim Ohara, who skated behind AEPI 2's net, passed the ball to Yu who shot it from 5 feet out, however, the ball went to Jermey Danney's (AEPI goalie) right. Pan got the rebound, passed off to Yu who shot is again from close range, however Danney was there to stop the ball. A few moments later, Victor Wang helped clear the ball out of the Ice Transplants' zone and out to the streaking Ohara. Ohara fired the ball from 15 feet away, however, the shot was wide right of the goal.

Even though AEPI 2 scored right after halftime, the Ice Transplants led by Yu showed renewed spark, constantly attacking and then getting back to stop AEPI 2's rare threats. Everyone on the Ice Transplants frequently swarmed around Danney. Early in the period, Ernst Lamothe stickhandled around the AEPI 2 in the slot but couldn't get off a good shot. A few seconds later, Yu took a 10-foot shot from the left that Danney stopped with his pad. Ohara got two rebound shots after the save but was turned away.

Moments after Lamothe was flattened by Daniel Hyman with a big hit in the AEPI's zone, Yu circled behind the net. He spun around as he approached the left circle, saw Pan in the middle and passed him the ball. Pan was able to squeeze through AEPI's two large 300 lb defenders (Steve Lekfoff and Ben Neidich) and put a shot towards Danney, Pan was tripped by Lekoff, fell to the ice hard. however, no foul as called. Unfortunately, his shot was just wide of the left post. "I thought we got outbattled for some balls in our zone" said Ben Neidrich. "I was concerned about the slippage in coverage and you can't have that, especially that Yu guy. Personally, I lost track of him numerous times, however, fortunately, he didn't score."

We can't show them too much respect" Yu said. "I don't think you've seen the last of us yet (at the Ice Arena). "We don't back down from anyone, especially frats. We played hard, and gave them a match."

"I am not sure what got into Yu" Pan said. "We were talking before the match...he was talking about how Dr. Pepper is like this sugary, syrupy water drink that is so good, man, but was disappointed that it doesn't even taste like pepper. So he drank it and then ran over to the mirror and complained how he looked exactly the same. He was kinda hoping he would turn into a red pepper..." Cannistraro disagrees. "What the #$(* is Dan talking about. Dave played extremely hard" Cannistraro expressed. "He had some keep blocks, sacrificing his body, getting back up and generating offense. Maybe it was the Dr. Pepper. Maybe it was Women of Walmart Calender. Hey...I want to be surrounded by people like Yu...#$() if the Women of Walmart Calender makes people play hard...I might as well purchase one for the team."
