Game 4: W 14-0
Player of the Game: the time keeper
With the realization of not making to the playoffs, both Section C and the Gangsters of Love wanted to end the season on a high note. The Gangsters of Love felt confident that they would win since they had beaten Section C easily during their first match-up and they had their defensive lineman, Asian Blurr, back from his test.
From the start, Section C was already at a disadvantage. With only 6 players, Section C took a pounding on the first possession. Gangsters of Love's quarterback George Glekas drove the team down the field in 5 plays, which resulted in a TD catch by receiver Cory Funk. George had all day to throw, hitting 3 different receivers during the drive. "They put no pressure on me. It doesn't help when you are playing with a man down. Even when they decided to rush, Travis and Vince did a great job blocking, allowing me to have all day to throw. Some of the team members didn't show up because they heard the Blurr benched 29 lbs last Thursday and they were scared." George said. "Maybe what scared them Blurr's bulging lemon size biceps"
Section C had no offense. Cory Funk and the Dan Pan gave their quarterback no time to throw the ball. "Cory did a good job in getting to their quarterback. He forced many arid passes which resulted in a couple of interceptions" Dan said. Because of the constant rush, Section C was forced to punt from just outside their goal. With a 10 yard punt, the Gangsters of Love got the ball looking to score again. Section C made an incredible defensive stand by shutting out the Gangsters of Love. "I don't know if it was their defense that stopped us from scoring on our second drive." Cory said. "We just had some miscommunications by George and his receivers. We tried to be fancy on 4th down, which cost us a touchdown." With this stop, Section C gained confidence. Their quarterback was able to elude both Dan and Cory and ran about 60 yards. With time winding down before the half, Dan made a key defensive stop by "sacking" their quarterback. "That was huge!" George said. "If Dan didn't get to their quarterback in time, Section C would have scored a touchdown. That would have been embarassing if they scored a touchdown on us, especially playing 6 on 7." With some changes on defense, the Gangsters of Love preserved a shutout. With Dan volunteering to sit out, Vince decided to take his place. "Rushing is so awesome. It is totally different from playing offensive line." said Vince. "I broke some of their linemen's ankles, which resulted in a sack...I wonder how the dirt tasted when I blew by them. They are probably home right now, trying to wash it out. The bottom line is that they tasted my wrath!" With Stanley Wang's intercetion, George was able to lead the team down the field, hitting Cory Funk for another touchdown. A scary moment came near the end of the game. One of the Section C rushers speared offensive lineman Dan Pan, knocking him down. With the rusher laughing, Dan immediately got up and started yelling at him, threating to bust his jaw with the heel of this foot. Luckly Greg was there to restrain him. "I was shocked that Dan reacted like that. Normally, he is calm and tells everyone to be calm during tense situation. At least the refs saw it and threw a flag. Spearing and then laughing at the person who got speared is not called for in any sport, especially flag football. I guess I would have reacted the same way if I was Dan's shoes." Greg said. "I am calm now. I apologize for my actions on the field, however, this is flag football, not WWF wrestling. Who does he think he is? Goldberg?" Dan said. "Just because he was upset that Gary Coleman didn't become governor of California and that he missed his favorite show, 'Eating with Opera' it doesn't give him the right to spear a weak Asian, wearing glasses and with major back problems. If he ever doesn't that to me again, I will start swinging at him, not with my fists though, but my wheelchair. I will even start throwing Metamucil at him if I have to"
