Snyder Nation Runners (SNR) is a non-profit running club in Champaign, IL organized solely for the benefit of area runners.
Purpose: To promote running and/or walking as a means of achieving physical and mental fitness; to provide support, encouragement and fellowship through individual, family and community involvement in running related events; to inform the public of the benefits of running/walking and to participate in community service activities.
General Information: Snyder Nation Runners currently has approximately 15 members. The Club invites anyone with an interest in running/walking to become members, whether serious competitor, casual jogger, or stroller. Snyder Nation Runners offers a place for every pace.
Snyder is a dorm on the University of Illinois campus. The Nation is everyone that lived in Snyder at one point or knew someone that lived there. The Snyder Nation resides in Champaign, IL, a lovely city located 120 miles south of Chicago, 550 miles northeast of Little Rock, AR and 125 miles east of St Louis, MO.
Running has been an important part of the Snyder Nation since the late 1990s. One race, Habitat for Humanity 5K, to date, remains a successful annual event for the Runners of the Snyder Nation.
