My mom took my sisters and I to Washington DC to attend the 3 days of games played at that venue.  We definitely had all the thrillers.
Day 1 was Norway vs Canada and Australia vs Sweden - I had the most incredible time.  I sat right behind Canada's bench and cheered for them the entire time and I was absolutely estatic when I met Hooper's family (mom, brother, sister, niece, old coach, and "better half" Chuck) and I even got to meet #10 herself.  I was on television so many times and at the end of the 2nd game right after Ulrika made an incredible save I was on tv screaming "Hey Mia Hamm! Hey Mia!" - I hope she was watching.  :-)  Needless to say I couldn't talk for a couple of days/
Day 2 was Germany vs Brazil and Nigeria vs Denmark.  We were all about Sissi & those Brazilians and it was an awesome game with Brazil tieing the Germans in overtime to claim sole possession of 1st place in their group.  The 2nd game wasn't too exciting but me and all the kids around us got into the spirit of the game by spray painting our hair green.  Again my sisters and I sat right behind the visitors bench and were on tv so much.
Day 3 was the biggie - USA vs Germany and Brazil vs Nigeria.  My sisters and I were all decked out for this game and brought Beanie Babies for "our girls".  We were interviewed by so many different news stations and people before we ever entered the stadium - and we were absolutely loving it!  Then when we got in the stadium we made out way down behind the USA bench and stood there until they came out.  And guess what!?!  ESPN opened up to the game with our smiling/ screaming faces - we were in heaven.  My dad was at home in Georgia watching the game with his friends in a bar and was like "Holy Shit" - I had told him during the very 1st game "thats going to be us in a couple of weeks" and sure enough there we were.  And after the USA game something else weird happened - a realized a very good friend of mine Holly was sitting 5 rows in front of me.  What was the chances of that happening considering we live 12 hours away and didnt even plan it?
All in all - the 1999 WWC was one of the best expereiences of my life and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for those 3 weeks.
