My dad drove me 5 hours to Lennox Square in Atlanta to meet Michelle Akers and Siri Mullinix.  The Discovery Store website said that Akers & Bri would be there, but I found out the day before that Siri would be there instead of Bri, which I was absolutely thrilled about.  We got there about 10am because I wasn't sure what to expect with Akers being there.  The thing started at 1pm but a line didn't really start forming till 12 noon.  In the 1st picture you'll see me pretending to sign autographs - and you thought I was just a fan!  :-)
Well when they walked sat down at the table I gave them their candy (Tootsie Pops for Siri, Smarties for Akers, and Lollypops for the entire team).  By this time there was a line of about 25 people but I was allowd to get whatever I wanted signed.  In the 2nd picture you'll see Siri signing a birthday card for 1 of her biggest fans & 1 of my best friends Maria and next to Siri is Akers trying to break into those Smarties.
After the line died down my new friend Deanne and I offered to get them something to eat and drink - Akers wanted a Grande Coffee (black) and Siri wanted a Coke & one of those really big pretzels.
We spent the entire 2 hrs with them waiting to get hooked up with some post-game passes from one of the managers of the store.  While we were there we got to know Siri pretty good - she's a really nice person and even kinda funny at times.  She seemed to down to earth and normal that it was weird to hear her talk about Mia and Foudy and even her own roommate Cindy Parlow.  On the 2nd row are some random pictures Deanne took.  The 1st one is of a guy who could care less of the Olympians sitting in front of him, he wanted that cowboy hat so Siri magically transformed from superstar goalkeeper to salesperson - the Discovery store should definitely hire her, she sold more items that day to customers than anyone else.  The 2nd pic is of Siri and her little cell phone that kept ringing but whenever she answered she couldn't hear anything.  I kept thinking: thats probably Mia or CP trying to call her - I wonder if she would've let me talk to them.  :-)  The 3rd pic shows Siri's thoughtfulness - the mom of the little girl standing beside her dropped the camera and broke it before she could take the picture.  Siri was all like: "oh let me see that" and tried to fix the camera but unfortunately couldn't.  Just note: Siri's dad is like a professional photographer or something.
