WATER SERVICE - TRADE UNION CAMPAIGN
CAN YOU AFFORD TO PAY AN EXTRA £600 PER YEAR????
KEEP WATER PUBLIC

The Government has published plans to reform Water and Sewerage services in Northern Ireland. These include:

the introduction of new direct water charges for every household from 2006
payment of an extra £600 per year per household on water and rates bills
no contribution from Government to the massive investment needed in the water and sewerage services
the threat of privatisation of services
the loss of 600 jobs

SAY NO TO DOUBLE TAXATION

Dear Minister,

I support the opposition to the Government's plans for the reform of Water Service in Northern Ireland.  I already contribute towards the costs of the Water Service through my rates and I object to the proposed double taxation.
I call on you as Minister to:

Reconsider and review your planned reforms
Accept that Government should fund the investment needed in the Water and Sewerage Services
Stop any privatisation of Water Services
Withdraw the threatened redundancy of 600 workers

Yours Sincerely
