'My Addiction to Bone': Written By Nickie

Bone... gotta have it, eat it, drink it, sleep it... how do normal, everyday people end up Bone addicts?  Is it a government conspiracy, something in the tap water?  Or is it just that Bone is the greatest comic in the world?

My first experience with Bone comix came in the form of a "Disney Adventures" magazine.  It had printed a piece of Issue 2 and had a little prologue reading "For those of you who came in late..." Late?  What were they talking about?  I had subscribed to this magazine for a year now and had never seen anything about a small, bald, cartoon character.  Intrigued, I began to read about Fone Bone, a cute little guy who was looking for his cousins, a bug, and something (or someone, as it turned out to be) named Thorn.  I kept reading.  Suddenly, right as Fone was trying to get the rat creatures (in which I saw no resemblance to rats) away from the possum kids, a little caption appeared: "To Be Continued".  And that's how I became a Bone-i-fide BoneHead.

Every since, I've gobbled up all I could about Bone.  I read and re-read the bits in my magazines.  I anticipated the arrival of each issue.  Then, I began to search the Internet.  That's where I found Issue 1, and everything else I needed to catch up on the story (I was surprised to find out Bone was a black-and-white series!).  But then (dum-da-DUM-DUM), my source dried up. "D.A." had stopped running Bone.  And they hadn't even concluded the Great Cow Race!  I was shocked, saddened, and sunk into a deep depression which lasted for 3 days.  I was having Bone withdrawal pains.  In school, I tried to draw Fone Bone, but couldn't get him just right.  I ended up drawing Ted the Bug instead.  I drew him everywhere, even on the bottom of my shoe!

I also completely visualized the Bone movie: what the characters should sound like, who should provide the voices, even if there'd be any visual effects involved.

Eventually, I came out of my depression with a new determination: to spread the word about Bone.  So that is what I'm doing here, as part of the staff at the Bone Fan Page.  I don't know how Bone is so addictive; all I know is this comic should come with a warning label!
