Doggy Astray

Doggy astray was written by I. Brown and began as a screached L7 type song. It soon settled down to the old standard it is now. It's very versatile and you can vary the speed and change the feel of the song and it's a piece of piss to play, just 3 chords and they're all 2 finger chords.

How to play on guitar
It's a simple G6 / Em / Asus4 / Em walk, only one finger changes for each chord, and here are those chords:

It's a down and up strum for each chord, so (G6)down, up (Em)down, up (Asus4)down, up (Em)down, (G6)down, up (Em)down, up (Asus4)down, up (Em) down. And so on.
G6 Em Asus4 Em
Black toast morning window pain
The chorus just uses Em and Asus4 with a little varience in the strum so it's (Wouldn't say, Couldn't stay) (Em)down, up (Asus4)down, down, up (Em)down,
(Doggy astray, doggy astray) (Em)down, up, down (Asus4)up, down, up, down (Em)up
(wanted to play, went your own way) (Em)down, up, down (Asus4)up, down, up, down (Em)up
(I'm, sliced in half today)(Asus4)down - let the chord ring out for I'm and let the rest go accappella and come in with the verse riff on day. When singing, I'm is stretched out a bit.
Once you get the basic pattern you can vary it occassionally. If you want to throw a solo in, just play around with E chords.

The lyrics:
[verse 1]
Black toast morning, window pain
dirt paw dawning, again and again
fields of sadness, foughts of gladness
but nothin to say, yet nothin to say
[chorus]
Wouldn't say, couldn't stay
Doggy astray, doggy astray
wanted to play, went your own way
I'm sliced if half today
[verse 2]
Saturday night, coat girl fight
bloody eye caught sight of biscuit mat bite
full of thoughts full of ideas
my face loves your telephone tears
[chorus]
Wouldn't say, couldn't stay
Doggy astray, doggy astray
wanted to play, went your own way
I'm sliced if half today
[verse 3]
Stay for tea, one more time
sing for me, by half nine
take a bath, speak your fear
or just keep walking outta here
[chorus]
Wouldn't say, couldn't stay
Doggy astray, doggy astray
wanted to play, went your own way
I'm sliced if half today
[verse 4]
By the way, by the way
what I really mean is, always stay

Yes very nice now take me back my father knows where I am
