Castle Darkmist
The Castle.
You give one last look to the guard, and start walking down the road. The guard re-enters the guardpost, and you hear a strange clanking sound, which must be the guard resuming his post at the window. The road stretches out before you.

The dirt road gets visibly wider as you get closer to the castle. For some reason, you are not surprized that there are no other travelers around. It is beginning to get dark, and the moon is ominously hanging in the sky. An owl hoots, startling you and calling your attention to the strange shapes or figures which are attached to the castle. The owl flies off as you look at the figures more closely. These are some of the most grotesque figures that you have ever seen. They are what most people call gargoyles. There are dozens of them, jutting out from places that you think gargoyles really would jut out from if they were alive. As you turn your attention back to the rest of the castle, you catch a glimpse of what you think is motion, but that can't be, the gargoyles are made of stone, aren't they?

The castle itself is a moderate sized structure, made from what seems to be the blackest, shinyest, stone that you have ever seen. The whole place screams "IMPENETRABLE!" This impression is added to by the numbers of guards along the tops of the walls, and you would assume, in the parapets. All of them have crossbows visibly displayed, making it clear that had you been an unwanted guest, you would already be dead.

It is still not too late to turn back, as this castle doesn't look like one for the faint of heart.

There is a moat, with a drawbridge, surrounding the castle, and you get a vague sense that there might be something in the moat. Strange ripples form just below where the drawbridge would cover the moat. Before you can do anything else, the drawbridge suddenly drops, scaring you half to death, as it hits the ground with a loud THUD! sound.

A thin man walks across the bridge towards you. He looks to be about 21 years old, stands about 5'8.5" tall, and he is dressed all in black. His hair is pulled back into a very small ponytail. Could this be the official greeter? You would think so, except there is something about him, something in the way he walks maybe?...Your thoughts are interrupted as he speaks.

"Greetings. I am the Lord of this realm. My name is Alan. You may call me Alan, or Dark One, if you prefer. I don't care. One thing I must ask, however is that you never call me Al. Ever." There is a strange aura about this man, something vaguely odd about him...

Before you can complete this thought, he continues:"Now, I will leave you to the castle, but remember, I am watching." With that, he disappears, and it is as if he was never there in the first place. Spooky. Maybe the stories you have heard about sorcery aren't just legend and myth...

The drawbridge continues to be down, and no one is attempting to stop you from crossing. You can just barely see across the drawbridge, and you get more chills. Is it getting colder?

You may enter the castle OR you may turn back.

Thou mayest leave a message here which will get to the lord of this realm, via e-mail.

You get an odd thought as you stand here: "This is all somehow related to or provided by Geocities."
