In Minnesota alone in 1995, 23 women were murdered by their husbands,
ex-husbands, lovers, or former lovers.
        11 children were killed by their fathers, mother's husbands,
exhusbands, lovers, or former lovers
        Not to point the finger only at men, 2 children were also
killed by their mother this year.

Every 8 seconds a women is beaten by her partner.

30% of all adult women report being raped (usually by someone
they know) and more than 50% of high school male seniors reported
that they would rape a woman if they knew they could get away with it.

Domestic violence is not just physical. It can be mental and emotional
as well.  Repeated emotional battering can be just as damaging.

Many, many, many thousands of women and children are living in           
terror, but don't know how to get help.

If you are/were a victim of domestic violence it is not your fault.
You did not cause your father to hurl you against the wall or call
you a fucking bitch or a whore.  IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT.  get help now.

If you want to know how to help, support a friend, volunteer at a
women's resource center, wear a purple ribbon to support awareness,
and most of all help stop the cycle by not being abuser yourself.
