Upon Leaving, A Carnival Thought

Riding on a stream of air
I gaze at the make believe world
Below, wondering, quietly
About the illusion of peace, of serenity!
I gaze at fairy tale sights
That were dreams two decades ago
So much has happened,
The winds of time and the river of space
Blow on onward upon the waves of life!
As I ride the current of air
This make-believe mind within
Caresses sweet, sweet memories
While a tearful eye looks
Upon haunted eyes, fantasy's delight
I am merely spacing
On a river of air
A highway of light!
