A Haunting

I haunt your streets
I sleep beneath your beds,
America, I am the Soul
You cast aside.
I am the lost child,
The Milk-Carton Madness
The Righteous Blindman
I am You, the forgotten Lover,
Bearer of your children,
The lonely Shepherd
Sleeping on a forgotten knoll,
I Haunt your Mind,
I beg at your doors,
In lost doorways, I sleep
One eye open
One ear missing, lost
In manic depressive Horror,
America, I am The Soul!
I Haunt your streets,
I await the Morning Light,
I beg for sweet release
You! Haunt my Mind
America!
America!
Where is your Soul!
