To Mom on Valentine's Day

by Marian Neilson
Shirley Temple she's not
Though her curly, red hair is misleading
She says she's short and fat
I say she's of good height and pleasantly plump
She can make you laugh
As well as cry
She does the dishes
What the hell am I doing writing
"She does the dishes?"
The heroine never does the dishes
She's strong of heart,
Good of will and is as
Playful as a kitten with a ball of yarn
That's our heroine
She not perfect but
Then again no one ever is
She is SuperMom
Not man, MOM
Smart, funny, loving, caring and so much more
She is Mom
Hear her roar!
