Comments: Your poetry is very..uh, what is a good word..emoting *laugh* I hope you get the idea. Hard to believe softly written words can move stone...Believe me the trip up the hill ain't any easier for Jack...The church is never good enough for true believers...and if your eyes could see for a lot more people, maybe we wouldn't need church walls to hide us from ourselves. Your thoughts page was very unsettling...I always say I can't believe someone could be so evil and unfeeling, but I am constantly proven wrong. I hope he is nevermore.. I would never want to lose fear...but I don't let it decide anything for me. Having no fear would be like no sour..sweet gets old after a while...Ignorance however, is mine sworn enemy..*laugh* God...In a lot of cases..I believe the act ie..killing, stealing, deceiving..is not a sin...The intent, however, is the determining factor. However, this can get very confusing..( to me anyway ) *laugh* so uh...I am going to let it rest...I am sure you are grateful for that.*laugh* Now, I have a retarded son. He spends about 6 months in a clinic for speech and motor disorders at the University of Montevallo, in central Alabama ( just south of B'ham). So for that time, I get to drive about 1180 miles a week back and forth to work..( 2 round trips ) Luckly, it is broken into 4 sessions, 2 long and 2 short, each year. We have been doing this for 8 years. We keep a full time apartment there so he can stay with us at night. ( They have a residential program, but his mom and I don't have the guts to leave him for any time at all *laugh*) He is the reason I exist. I know this. It may sound kind of odd, but he being him, is probably the luckiest thing that ever happened to me. He is a great kid, as has made me a better person. So, how can I fear...how can I complain...how can I refuse to understand...then look him in the eyes.. Sorry...get carried away....longwinded. Great page...thanks

I am adopted.
My father, who was my best friend, molested me when I was 12 years old.
I have since found out that I was not the first one. I hope to God that I was the last one.
I confronted him when I was 16 or 17.
He said that he didn't remember that happening but that he was sorry that I felt that way, and that I was hurting. Far too little, far too late. I have had a lot of counselling and have recovered my self-confidence, my self-esteem, my self-control, and my laughter, which I really do try to share at any given opportunity. I often wish that I could lose the memory of that night, and others.
but they are a part of who am I today, and I would/will not change that,
except for making myself stronger, smarter or better.

Comments: I only wish that somehow at the earliest age possible we could learn to prepare ourselves all through life for old age. If we could learn to stop and smell the roses all along life's trail, what wonderful memories we would have to sustain us the last few miles. If I have any advice to offer anyone it would be to spend all the time you can with your children, see the world through their eyes, get down to their eye level to talk with them so they do not have to look up at you, never get impatient with them - make the time available! Never forget that the day will come when you can no longer hold them by the hand and do all you can to assure they are ready to take the blows of life when you are no longer permitted to take them for them. Treat each one as the individual he/she is and always be there for them.

My feelings are to try to do my best to be as happy as I can, sometimes I forget that I need first to be happy myself to make other people happy, but I try to take care anyway, the problem is that there is so many people that need to learn about themselves, that my time become more important for them than for me, so it's well used in the end, as far as I don't forget to eat or sleep from time to time.
