If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord for me to take,
If I should wake before I die,
I know I cannot tell a lie,
I cannot bear to see tomorrow,
as all it brings are pain and sorrow,
So Lord, as in bed I lay,
Please let me soon pass away.
