She had slept all day....two days in fact. Hadn't even
budged off the couch she had collapsed on. To be rejected
by him that way. He'd just shrugged her off like a coat.
It made her sick to think that.
"Face it Q. No one wants you because if who you've got as
a bf. You'll always be exactly as your name. A dilema.
The problem. So fortunate your real mother, whom ever she
was named you Dee Lemma."
She sighed and laid back down, wanting to
crawl into a cave and never come out.
he leapt out of bed, raced to the lab, and began jotting
down all new equasions, punching numbers into calculators
and computers and drawing diagrams on paper and
chalkboards and... just thinking of nothing else but the
project. within two hours, he had it perfected. he knew
how to make it work. by the end of the day, the prototype
device was built. he thot then that he should get some
rest before testing it, as it was quite late. but he
couldn't
sleep now. he turned on the dimensional gateway and
stepped thru... and found himself in a very dark place
indeed. it was the cave his base was located in, but it
had never been seen by human eyes in this reality. he
went back thru the gateway, and grabbed a flashlight and
a few other supplies, and went back thru again.
he left the cave, and went out to explore the city.
but soon, he found himself bored. it was all too
tfamiliar. so he decided to check out this reality's
Arkham. he snuck in. he always liked doing that. amused
the hell out of himself, sneaking into the asylum.
After two days of sleep, Q felt she couldn't sleep any
longer. She was lonely. Of course, she had Tan with
her...But she would've preferred either Eddie, or better
yet, her mind thot, Kidder. Since she didn't know where
to find Kidder, she made her way back to Arkham and
Eddie.
he found his way to his regular cell... but there was
someone there... and it wasn't him. it was no one he knew
of. so he went to the recreation room to see if there
were any familiar faces. the first one he noticed was
Query. and he realized, in this reality, last nite- or
was it two nites ago?- had never happened. he liked the
thought of that. friends. just like they were meant to
be.
he went up to her and said, "hiya, Q. how's things?"
"and who are you?" she said.
Q looked this stranger over. Who was he?! Where'd he come
from?! And, more importantly, how did he know who she was
and why did he care how she was?! No one cared about her.
None of the other inmates....She sighed deeply. Not even
the docs believed her. Course, she had her pet tiger to
keep her company. She reached down and pet the stuffed
toy in her lap.
