Jakal is a Cardassian professor at Starfleet Academy. He taught a class called Changeling Awareness in which he taught Academy cadets how to deal with changelings the Cardassian way. Jakal was one of the scientists who invented the changeling torture device used on Odo that one time by Garek. He re- designed it for Federation use, making it take effect much faster.

Jakal married Delrene Avek, a Bajoran woman, and together they had a daughter, Tamera, who becomes close friends with Nog.

Jakal became a much sought after man by the Conglomerate, for he knew secrets of technology that they didn't want the Federation to have. he was kidnapped innumerous times by them and either escaped or was rescued each time.

After the events of Darkside, Jakal went back to teaching at the Academy, peacefully and without incident. He continues to be science advisor for the Federation and has many more inventions in store before the end of his career.

Rhonklain was a Jem'Hadar prisoner on the base on Europa. He was being held in the same cell as Nog and Tamera while they were captured by the Conglomerate. Together, they organised a revolt in which all the Jem'Hadar slaves escaped and battled to the death with their captors. The three of them escaped and Rhonklain's loyalties were changed over to the federation after they helped them escape. He remained with Nog and Tamera and went with them everywhere they went, and fought beside them. He was with them while they were being held on the Moctezuma's Revenge where he was killed with a disruptor by Cherice.

Great great grandson of Captain Styles of the USS Excelsior. His father was a scientist working on experimental anti-PC weapons. One such weapon produced a field around ships that prevented the PC from using their mind powers on it. The experimental shuttle was called the SkyNova.

Jason was assigned with Nog and Tamera and at first they didn't get along. Jason came across as a jerk who doesn't care about anybody but himself. He was rude to Nog from the start and Nog assumed he was always like this. After time Nog realized that Jason wasn't such a bad guy and that Jason is rude to everyone he meets for the first time. It is kind of his defense mechanism. After learning to get along and work together, they embark on a mission in which they destroy PC Headquarters in the Mariana trench. The SkyNova then gets captured by the Moctezuma's Revenge where Cherice has her scientists try and figure out the anti-PC device. However, the device was attached to a detector that self destructs the shuttle when the device is tampered with. So they destroy the Moctezuma's Revenge while trying to get the device out.

Jason Styles was later reassigned to the USS Krela Orla where he remains.

Cherice Tomei was a General in the Conglomerate. She was also working as a waitress in the Academy restaurant.

Cherice was born and raised in New Orleans, where she still lived during her job at the Academy. However, when the Conglomerate war began, she was forced to leave her home and job to fight in the war. She had various commands during the war including a post at the base on Europa. After the Europa moon was destroyed, she was reassigned to Titan, orbitting Saturn. The base there was old and she was not satisfied with her command there until she took command of the ship Moctezuma's revenge with her second in command Grommel Wildman.

It was on that ship where she was killed while protecting Nog. her fascination with Nog is not quite understood, and may never be. Yet she was intent on having Nog and would do anything to get him, including kill his girlfriend Tamera. She almost got away with it, untill she threw herself infront of a blast aimed at Nog and sacrificed herself for him and his happiness. Nog, not feeling a pulse, assumed she was dead, and launched her in a photon tube.
