Most cities and towns have one universally boring common trait to their layouts; they were all placed on boring, flat, 2-D land, leaving it up to the skyscrapers to add height. Not Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Cape was ingeniously built smack-dab in the center of a hill breeding ground, where hills and bumps of all sizes meet and reproduce. Cape Girardeau has no need for tall buildings. Where else can 12 stories be considered tall?

Best known as being the hometown of ultra-conservative Rush Limbaugh, Cape is more importantly the home of Southeast Missouri State University, where I, stAllio!, attend classes under the pseudonym Benjamin Berg. Most people I know don't listen to or much like Rush Limbaugh, in case you're wondering.

Southeast is usually referred to as SEMO by students and locals (think for a second and you can probably figure out where the acronym came from), although the University itself is trying to move away from that name for whatever god-awful reason.

If you were to do some research, you would find that my alter-ego is listed as being a 21-year-old senior from Indianapolis, Indiana. All of that is accurate enough, since the world is not yet ready for the true origin of stAllio!

You might also find, doing that research you won't do, that I am here because I received the prestigious Governor's Scholarship, a full-tuition, full-room&board-type deal that they gave me because I'm appartently smart or something.

Some other details you'd come across are the fact that I was a columnist for the Capaha Arrow, the University's newspaper. I'm on hiatus now, I suppose, but I'd better have my column back next semester. Go to the Talking to Charlie page to read unedited versions of last semester's columns. Hell, you can even comment on them right there! Why, that's virtually interactive!

Those visitors to this page who are also SEMO students might know me as the god of Conf Evil, an electronic conference on SEMO's somewhat old-fashioned MUSIC e-mail server. Conf Evil is a place where disgruntled students can indulge in a wee bit of hating, killing, Woo-Hah!ing, or poking at things with sticks. You can visit the archives at the Conf Evil Page, but you gots to have an account to post there.

Well, that's all I have to say about SEMO and Cape for the moment. There are only a couple other SEMO students worth mentioning who have web pages, such as gAtor and lovely becky. There are others on my links page. For an incomplete list of pages by SEMO students, follow this link.
