Summer Camps and Programs

We are located at the historic Elizabeth White House in Sumter, SC. Since 1977, this Greek revival style cottage has been the setting for the permanent collection of Elizabeth White's work as well as hosting exhibits of local, regional and national interest. The Sumter Gallery of Art, a nonprofit membership organization, was established in 1969 to promote the understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. Origionally housed in the old Carnegie Library in Sumter, the art gallery moved to the Elizabeth White house in 1977, one year after the death of Miss White. The Gallery's Volunteer Program promotes community participation in the arts. Groups may arrange for guided tours of the exhibits and the historic home. Art classes are taught throughout the year by a professional art faculty. Summer art camp provides art activites and instruction. Come in for a visit, enjoy the current exhibit, visit our Gallery Gift Shop, and ask about The Gallery's Volunteer program and Art Classes and workshops. Enjoy the Sumter Gallery of Art... it's here for you.
