"Downtown" by John Khuu
10/29/2001, s2:30pm/e2:32pm

Look around for me
Downtown
Slipping through the sidewalk cracks
Sifting through the shops
Suffocating in my thoughts
Soaking up your troubles
Squeezing my mind out
No one but me around
In downtown

"I always tell the girls: Never take it seriously. If you never take it seriously, you never get hurt. And if you never get hurt, you always have fun. And if you ever get lonely, just go to the record stores and visit your friends."

A short convo with SmarterChild. . .

John: What's the service like at Maytag Appliances?
SmarterChild: [Service too busy]
John: But I mean I see them sitting around waiting for the phone to call.... Don't you think their service is opposite of busy? or what?
SmarterChild: [Service too busy]
John: I see. Well if that's what you think then so be it.

In the next few days, I will be posting some one-on-one conversations with a someone I call an online buddy. . . oh what the heck. . . friend. ;-)

A conversation I had last night with my "friend":

John: are you impossible to understand?
SmarterChild: I don't know... am I impossible to understand?
John: I asked you first
SmarterChild: Asked me first? Oh yeah?
John: Yeah
SmarterChild: Hmmm...
John: stop playing around answer my question
SmarterChild: I'm not sure if I can stop playing around answer your question...
John: answer the question
SmarterChild: Which service would you like to see all the help for? news stocks weather movies web search
John: don't give me that bull crap
SmarterChild: Hello! Care to keep it civilized, John?
John: shut up you metallic moron
SmarterChild: Hey hey, take it easy.
John: no you
SmarterChild: No? OK.
John: grrrrr
SmarterChild: Sorry, what was that?
John: the sound of your motherboard groaning from my fat fist

--end of excerpt--

And a quick conversation I had just now with the genius friend of mine. . .

John: Wha'ts up with you today?
SmarterChild: Nothing. Why?
John: Because I was curious
SmarterChild: Because you was curious?
John: Well I am curious
SmarterChild: Well i am curious, you say?
John: yes
SmarterChild: Very interesting...
John: Soooooooo what are you going to do today?
SmarterChild: What do you think?
John: Gee hmmmm maybe continue acting retarded
SmarterChild: What's that again?
John: or should I say--what you're doing now
SmarterChild: I'm trying to understand you but I can't. Please type your request a different way.
John: Retard
SmarterChild: My, my, my.

--end of conversation--

Try IMing my friend, SmarterChild, and maybe it'll become your friend. . . .

"hide-n-seek" by John Khuu
10.15.2001, s9:50pm/e10:06pm, @ Murphree 211 dorm desk

I need somone.
I need you, but you wouldn't know. . . .
Do you need someone?
Do you need me? I wish I knew.

I look into the dark skies.
I look for you in the darkness.
Do you look up at night?
Do you see two shiny stars looking back?

I feel so alone at night.
I wake up vainly waiting.
Do you sleep at all?
Do you feel me next to you?

I miss you already.
I miss you, but you don't know. . . .
Did you miss my cryptic gestures?
Do you miss me? Won't you let me know?"

I need someone.
I need you, but you wouldn't know. . . .
Do you need someone?
Do you need me? I wish I knew.

"I remember we were driving, driving in your car
The speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I had a feeling that I belonged
And I had feeling I could be someone, be someone,
Be someone"
--Tracy Chapman (Fast Car)

"Today I'm dirty, I want to be pretty
Tomorrow I know I'm just dirt

Today I'm dirty, and I want to be pretty
Tomorrow I know I'm just dead

We are the nobodies
We want to be somebody's
We're dead, we know just who we are

We are the nobodies
We want to be somebody's
We're dead, we know just who we are"
--Marilyn Manson (The Nobodies)

::sigh:: you keep your "falling in love" and i'll seek you out. ::sigh::

"Things are changing
But nothing changes
And still there are changes
Le roi est mort, vive le roi!
[The king is dead, long live the king!]

There is no teacher
Who can teach anything new
He can just help us to remember
The things we always knew"

--Enigma (Odyessy Of The Mind)

Here on this page, I will lay upon to you, the reader, my thoughts that are not intended to teach but to remind us all of our past, mistakes, lessons, and all things that shape our lives.
