SaVas' Bio Page

Born to the name given to me: Stephen A. Vasali, on January 16, 1970, in the lovely cold mid-north USA, in a place known as Maryland. A quaint little town called Silver Springs, just outside of Washington D.C., but like you care anyway. Like me, you were probably just surfing the net with no direction and happened upon my little snippet of the net. Anyway, back to the story. Glad I got away from there. Moved south a few times, further each time, finally coming to rest in a very pollinated state called Georgia. Not much there to see, but it beats where I live now. Hmm, off tangent again. Normal.

College: Yeah I went. Wasn't forced to go, but might have well been. Bureaucracy killed the college kid. Did pretty well considering I studied my three passions. Beer, drugs, and women (kidding...or am I?) In fairness, I studied Marine Biology, Drawing and Painting, and Scientific Illustration. Seven long blurry years. What school you ask? The wonderful jock inspired, sports fanatic University of Georgia in Athens; home of the B-52's and R.E.M.. (Nothing against those that love sports as many of my friends do, but they go overboard at that school). If ever in Athens I recommend The Globe, The Engine Room, Mean Mike's, Washington Street Tavern, Nowhere Bar, City Bar, The Georgia Theatre (for bands, booze and movies) and The Winery. I drank a bit as you can tell. For good food at 3 AM, go to The Grill. If coffee is your flavor, Jittery Joe's and The Blue Moon Cafe. Now that I live far away from Athens, and have for a while, I have forgotten some names of some places, and some of these may not be there anymore. Such a shame if they are gone. So many wonderful people with exceptional stories to tell. If in St. Louis, Missouri, go to The Venice Cafe. A haven for artists especially when the weather is nice and you can enjoy the great outdoor patio area.

Presently I work for Merial Limited, in customer service, in St. Louis,, which is one of the companies that manufactures an extensive product line for your dogs, cats, horses, sheep, swine, chicken, ferrets, and bovines (beef and dairy cattle) that are mainly sold through licensed veterinarians (the products silly) or specialty stores (large animal) to make sure the products are used in a safe way. Make sure you vaccinate your pet regularly and spay or neuter your furry friend like the responsible adult you are unless it is a pure bred I suppose, otherwise, YOU DON'T DESERVE HAVING THEIR COMPANIONSHIP. No need to have strays in a cruel world. Enough morality...

My LIKES: Hiking, camping, diving, fishing (deep sea), photography, sculpture, painting (in water color and acrylics ...I am allergic to something in oils), airbrush, pastels, drinking micro brews and imports (I HATE Anhueser-Busch products), the Acura Legend (mine especially), flying small planes like the Cessina 172, the beach, the ocean, the Florida Keys, the US Virgin Islands, animals, Dead Can Dance (thanks to Curtis J. E. Davis), Pink Floyd, this Mortal Coil, Peter Gabriel ("Passion" from the movie The Last Temptation of Christ is the BEST music in the world), sushi, sashimi, lobster, Alaskan king crab, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, my mother may she rest in peace, my father to whom I would like to thank for being who he is and giving me inspiration to push harder, my friends, and lastly but not in the least, my girlfriend Tracy for putting up with my shit!!!! I can be a real PAIN IN THE ASS when I want to be. (She says all the time...I hope she is kidding...)

DISLIKES: Being land-locked, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, Budweiser, idiots, drivers that ride my butt. Drivers of big sports utility vehicles, cars I cannot afford, because I want one of them, and people who litter. (More morality...sorry)

Influential friends throughout my time upon this earth that I would like to thank (in no particular order):

Michael David Sherer (RIP), Gene S., Judy S.-all of you are in my thoughts, Mike Kammer- hope the band is still going strong, Curtis J. E. Davis Your art is inspirational, Lawrence "Mark" McKinley- where did you go? Miss you bro..to good times!, Steve P. "Be, do not become"- Mental Eclipse, Trish K. (thanks for the trip to the USVI) , Nicci R. (still a sweetie), Matt J. (font king. Sorry for the dorm room incident), Lynn B.- my queen (you know what I mean), Charles J. (your web expertise), Bridget M. (Hockey lady), Stefanie J.- so glad I found you again. I've missed you, Jason P.-play that bass, Thomas S.-my Austrian friend, Trevor H.- my Australian friend, and many, MANY others! I didn't forget you, I'm just in a hurry.

So enough of all this mushy, not even necessary stuff about me and the life I live. It isn't important anyway, is it?

My word of advise: Live life to the fullest, and enjoy a good beer or Long Island Ice tea made the Engine Room way! Just don't overindulge.

Last bit of morality: If you are in the peer pressure group age...DON'T SMOKE. Take it from me. It's a pain to quit. I would rather be addicted to crack.
