Title: Devil Swept Us Down
Writer: Mike Szuter

"Silence", she said, as we walked down the lane.
And looked past my mind, as it started to rain.
"God save your spirit", I whispered alone.
As we ran past a mill, I heard her moan.
"Look on," And I followed her heed.
And I saw we had a more desperate need.
"Goodbye", I bade my soul.
And walked to my doom, which looked rather dull.
And which originally looked like a demon or two,
I lit my torch, and it was satan's army in full view.
And now as a prophet of good
I did what I might as well would.
I got on my knees and began to pray.
I knew it would be my last day
As I was taken down, I knew even god couldn't pull me out
I was going to hell, and I had no doubt.
I drifted away quick, and was nothing for a second.
And I arrived in a place, with glowing pictures.
And everyone looked at me like a crazy drifter.
And they ridiculed my, calling me crack-boy, and other names
But I had no time for their devil games.
I found a lonely soul sitting in a corner.
He was a very lonely mourner.
I talked awhile, and asked some questions.
He told me of all the bad opression.
I watched around me and some died.
I always thought in hell, people fried.
But this seemed very hellish, indeed.
Because those who walk around bleed.
And I asked him exactly where we were.
"Las Vegas", Was all he'd incurred.
And I asked the date.
"November 8"
I asked for a year.
He looked at my eyes, so clear.
"It's 1997,
and I'm waiting for heaven"
I knew the Devil Swept Us Down
And no one was ready to drown.
