When I was six I got a gift
None better than any other
A bright blue bike shinny and new
I got it from my mother

At the age of ten at my birthday when
I got a gift better than the rest
You see there was a girl I liked she kissed me
Once was a better gift than a bike

T turned thirteen my life did change
I was older than my year
A teen at last respect from friends
My father brought my first beer

Sixteen now I am a man
My money I did hoard
To celebrate this mile stone
I got a new surfboard

I’m twenty one
Got the key to the door
Expensive gifts
I got then all

I’m thirty six and done a lot
Received gifts through the years
Some cost money some did not
But one drew me to tears

The bike rusted and rotten
The kiss all but forgotten
The beer was drunk
The surfboard now junk

The gift I have
That will always be
Was the gift of love from the
