The words on the page Jumped out and slapped me Hit me like a wall of fire Heart-wrenching sorrow Is what I felt at the loss of you

You brought me happiness Your smile gave me a tomorrow Your peace of mind Gave me Peace of heart And your heart gave me hope For a new day

I bid you farewell dear friend Thoughts of you will make me smile Through the trying times of my life And these thoughts I will carry with me In a pocket of my heart Sealed forevermore Til the day I die

The time we knew each other Was short How can it compare to the lifetime Of support you Have instilled in my heart How do I thank you How do I say goodbye

With so much love in your soul With so much time to give With so many beautiful things Surrounding you So much freedom So much life

Never bid me goodbye I will hold you as part of me My love will follow you As you depart this life You will never have my pity Only the sweet memories of the time We once shared

The emptiness and loss In my heart will fill In time I am sure With the good things you leave me But for now sweet friend Let me cry Let me scream in my heart Let me feel cheated Let my heart feel for you What you cannot feel
