Title: This Man That I Married
Writer: Cindy Canova Giles
To Love and to cherish
Were the vows that we took.
This man that I married changed the rules of the book.
To do as I say, was his new game plan,
Or this man that I married would take me in hand.
Crushing and degrading words at first.
The sorries came so often they lost their worth.
Excuses were many:It was never his fault!
My wounds lay open and he added the salt.
This man that I married,as the world could see.
Was a gentle smiling soul,Happy as could be.
But behind the threshold the soul that they saw.
Transformed to a deamon, I knew not at all..
My thoughts are my own.
As hard as you try,
You cannot have them !!
Their mine till I die!!
The torment you live in
Is consuming your life.
You try to blame me
for all of your strife.
Emotions rage like tumbling rocks,
Loud silence I hear,like a timeless clock.
The colors of life seem so faded and old.
Just one more day, Will my sanity hold?
Is this really me? It doesn't seem so.
This man that I married is really my foe.
How can this life of empty promises ever end.
When this man that I married really isn't my friend.
The secret plans you make must be perfect and quick.
To flee like a theif from this mind that is sick.
Don't leave room for any thoughts of doubt.
You must seek safety! and a place to hideout..
The pattern of this cycle you can never control.
It's only the abuser who can change his role.
You must learn to be strong and leave this behind,
For this man that you married soon will find,
That the woman he married has changed her mind...
