Re: storage solutions (FAQs) I have found that the Hot Wheels storage box from WalMart toy dept. are great for storing threads. Balls & hanks of perle cotton and spools of Kreinik metallics all fit nicely. The plastic is somewhat see-thruough and it even as a carrying handle. Enjoyed your site, I'll come back and try to see it all!

From my childhood, I remember a crazy quilt Grandma used to give me to lay on in the back yard, while weaving chains and crowns from clover leaf. When my Grandpa passed away, I asked if I could have the quilt to remember him by (he often sat with me on t ose lazy days). I was looking for the Stack and Slash method of making squares. I saw a sample in a new quilt store in my area, and I thought it was really cool. I also thought my son would like to do this method, but I needed the how-to's so it would make sense to hi . (We don't always see eye to eye when it comes to discribing things.) I just recently got my son started on quilt making when watching Simply Quilts. The show was about foundation piecing on newspaper, which is easy enough, and I thought this Stack and Slash would be easy also. (My son is 17, but still likes to see results right away.)

We are interested in doing an accompanying artist's residency for June 2000 and would like to know of any WV or southwestern PA artists doing com unity based projects who might be interested in working with us. What I am looking for is some info on an old crazy quilt I just inherited. It is one my great grandmother started. She died before I was born and I am 50 (just). The quilt is made all from silk and about half done. The half that is done is embelished eautifully. Another quarter is all basted into place. The rest is just material in the box. The colors are still bright they haven't seen daylight in alot of years. What can I do with it and how would I clean the scraps to use. Please can someone ema l me at LWest33672@aol.com? Thank you

I found this site the other night. I have been interested in making a crazy quilt, and thoutht, maybe I could find something on the internet, rather than going to the library. I love the site, though I havn't explored the whole thing. I found some very helpful information. I do have a question. Since I would like to make a CQ vest, I would like to begin to gather materials, but am concerned about how to clean it, if I use so many various materials. I have collected some antique laces, buttons, etc. an this be dry cleaned, especially if I first remove the buttons? Your answer will help me decide what to include for my materials. I do like it a lot. I have already learned an answer to one of my questions and am very interested in getting another question answered. Most everyone said they throw everything in the washing machine, sort of sink or swim but what about velvet which I i tend to use a lot of . Velveteen also. I also buy clothes to cut up at garage sales. Silk dresses especially. And silk ties.
