"Hey Chris!" the voice of Dana cut through her thoughts as she walked in the room and she looked up as Dana asked, "Which one?"

"Which one what?" Chris replied playing dumb.

"Which dress for my date?" she asked

"With who?" Chris asked trying not to break in the biggest grin she�d ever had.

"Did you just miss the whole conversation Dana and I had at lunch." Kelsey asked.

"Ya" she replied, �I was hungry, food was important.�

"I'm going on a date with Carter and I wanna know which dress to wear." Dana said and held two dresses up. Carter Grayson was the original Red Lightspeed Ranger. Thought it was obvious to the other Rangers that Carter and Dana liked each other but neither would admit it to anyone. That included themselves or at least they didn't seem to admit it. Chris looked at the dresses Dana had held up both dresses were pink; one was a spaghetti strap dress that would come a few inches above her knees and the other was a long dress with short sleeves.

"That one" she said pointing to the spaghetti strap dress.

"That's the one I told her to wear." Kelsey said.

"This is just a friendly dinner and a movie date that you guys refused to go on." She said

'Unfortunately.' Dana thought to herself. Ever since she had looked at Carter�s file while trying to get the team together she had wanted him to ask her out.

"Well I been planning to relax for weeks tonight is prefect for it and beside that dress looks much better than the other one for a friendly date. " Chris said.

"I had other plans tonight for a while too." Kelsey said.

Meanwhile in the boy's dorm Carter Grayson buttoned a red dress shirt, it wasn't too dressy for a casual dinner and movie but it looked much better than what he usually wore. Chad Lee the Blue Lightspeed Ranger, Joel Rawlings the Green Lightspeed Ranger, and Ryan Mitchell the Titanium Ranger who was Dana's brother sat on the couch talking.

"You better be nice to my sister Carter, or I'll kick your butt." Ryan said in a good humor manner though there was serious edge to it.

"Why don't you come a long?" Carter asked

'Carter you�re an IDIOT!' Carter thought to himself.

"We've got plans." Ryan said moving his arms to indicate Joel and Chad. Carter let out a silent sight of relief, he had wanted since the day he had met Dana to spend some time alone with her and he had all most blew it.

"Ya" Joel said, and Chad nodded in agreement.

Five minutes later Carter walked to the Girl's room. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Kelsey's voice came from the other side of the door.

"Carter." He replied.

"Just a sec monkey boy." Chris said. Carter rolled his eyes at Chris� pet name for him.

In the room Dana took a quick look in the mirror and took a deep breath.

"Ok you can come in now." Chris said, the door opened and Carter stepped through.

"Ready?" he asked as his jaw hit the floor. Chris smirked at the younger man but Dana didn�t seem to notice, she was mesmerized by Carter�s look as well.

"Ya, catch you guys later." Dana said. She and Carter went to the Transport Bay and took a civilian car to the restaurant. They talked through dinner and got to know each other a little better when they were done they paid and left the restaurant. As Dana was getting into the car she checked her watch it was 7:15 the movie started at 7:00.

"Carter its 7:15." She said as she sat down. This would mean they would be going back to the Aqua Base early and she wanted to spend more time with Carter.

"Great, well at least we had dinner." he said as he sat down. Carter could see that Dana was upset, he had agreed to let her pick the movie and seem to mean a lot to her to see this movie.

"Dana I'm sorry about missing to movie." Carter said.

"It's ok Carter don't worry abut it." She said, with that Carter turned the keys and started to drive back to the Aqua Base when an idea hit him.

"Since no body is expecting us at the base for a while would you like to take a walk some where?" He asked.

"Yes, that would be nice." Dana said

'Nice that it gives us more time together' Dana thought.

�Now where too, some place....' Carter thought to himself, and with that they ended up at the beach. At the beach Carter got out of the car and walked to Dana�s door helping her out of the car. They walked along the beach talking about a variety of things.

"Dana I wish tonight worked out better." Carter said out loud, and to him self he thought 'Heck I wish I was brave enough take you in my arms and kiss you.'

Dana turned to Carter she was going to say something but instead she hugged Carter. Carter wrapped his arms around Dana. He took a deep breath and inhaled the scent of Dana�s shampoo it was an herbal mix. When they pulled apart their faces remained very close.

�Care to dance?� Carter asked.

�To what music?�

�The sea�

�You�re silly�

�Is that a yes?�

Sighing Dana let Carter lead the dance. She just couldn�t help but say yes to those blue eyes of his. It was a traditional slow dance just rocking with the sea. It start softly at first Dana didn�t hear it but then it became only slightly louder Carter was humming a song. His voice was rather nice but the song seemed a little off as if he wasn�t singing it right. The melody was one Carter had heard since he was little he was singing as best he could but the high notes were a strain. Dana looked up and locked eyes with Carter as they swayed back and forth. Carter leaned over and kissed Dana gently on the lips, causing Dana to go a little numb she was shocked still. When he pulled back, he felt embarrassed and turned away. It took Dana a second to get over the shock. 'If this is a dream I don't want to wake up.' Dana thought and gently placed her right hand on his left cheek and turned him so they were face to face and kissed him gently on the lips. When they pulled apart Carter had a shocked look on his face, but it quickly turned into a smile, Dana smiled back.

"Well I'm kinda glad we didn't see the movie." Carter said.

"I wasn't really looking forward to seeing it, I just wanted to spend the time with you." Dana said putting her arms around his neck.

"Oh." He said. Dana smiled and leaned up and kissed him. Carter wrapped his arms around Dana's waist and kissed her passionately on the lips and she kissed him back. When they pulled apart it hit Dana the it was kinda of late the moon was high above them. She checked her watch it was 10:42.

"Oh brother its 10:42!" Dana said pulling him back to the car.

"Great we do have to go back don't we." Carter said, sighed and followed Dana back to the car. Once Carter was in the car Dana leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

"I've always wanted to do that." She said.

"You can do that anytime." He said, and started the car. After a few minutes Dana leaned her head on Carter's arm.

"I wanted you to do that for a long time, but I can't drive." He said.

"And I was comfortable." She said, and sat up.

"Sorry" he said.

"I'm just teasing." She said.

They pulled into the Lightspeed civilian parking lot and got out.

"I had a great time tonight." Dana said.

"Me too, so what are you doing tomorrow?" Carter asked.

"I've got a date." Dana said.

"With who?" Carter asked.

"You, sheesshh you better keep a daily planner or a calendar handy for remembering dates and stuff Carter." She said as she wrapped her arms around him, leaned up and kissed him on the lips. Carter wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her back.

"Ahem." Dana and Carter turned to see Captain Mitchell with a stern look of his face.

"Hi dad." Dana said.

"Captain Mitchell�uh, hi." Carter said.

"I think kissing the girl by her front door is the place for a goodnight kiss not the driveway." He said, then he smiled and walked away. Both Dana and Carter let out a sigh of relief.

Then he and Dana held hands as they walk to Dana and Kelsey's quarters. They stopped Carter turned, smiled, and kissed Dana gently on the lips.

"Woo ya. GO Carter! Go Dana!" voices came from the left of them. Carter and Dana turned to see Chad, Joel, Chris, Kelsey, and Ryan.

"Hi, guys" Carter said slightly grimly.

"Well did you have a good time Dana?" Ryan said.

"Yes." Dana said.

"Lucky you, Carter." Ryan said with a smirk on his face.

"Ok now that we've embarrassed you two time to go to sleep. Right Kelse." Chris said.

"Ya night guys." Kelsey said as she walked in her quarters and Chris walked into her own quarters. Dana smiled and followed Kelsey in. Carter walked passed Chad, Ryan, and Joel the room he shared with Chad and Joel. Inside the boy's room Carter laid down on his bed, while Chad, Joel, and Ryan sat on the couch.

"So what happened?" Chad asked.

"We had dinner and took a walk. Nothing special." Carter said.

"What happened to the movie?" Ryan asked.

"We were really into our conversation at dinner we ate till 7:15. So we took a walk on the beach. Like I said nothing special." Carter said.

"You two kissed goodnight something special had to have happened." Joel said.

"I'm not sure�we just kissed each other and realized how much we really liked each other." Carter said.

"Well its about time." Ryan said, "Night guys." He then returned to his quarters. Carter gave Ryan a strange look and then he realized that the others didn't have anything planned for tonight, but trying to get him and Dana together.

"What did you guys do to night, since your little scheme worked?" He asked.

"Tip for life never play Scrabble with Chris." Joel said.

"And don't play poker for that matter, and if you play Trivia Pursuit with her be on her team." Chad added. Carter cracked up laughing.

In the Kelsey and Dana�s room the girls got ready for bed as Chris stepped in for a minute.

"Ok Dana, we want all the juicy details." Kelsey said.

"Nothing really juicy about our date. Just dinner and a walk" Dana said, �and a dance.�

"What happened to the movie?" Chris asked sitting on Kelsey�s bed.

"We talked so long during dinner, we missed the start of the movie so we decided to take a walk." Dana said and sat on her bed.

"Well then why did you two kiss?" Kelsey said.

"On the beach he asked me to dance and I reluctantly said yes, no music just the waves. Then he started to sing, some really strange melody.� Dana said.

�How�d it go?� Chris asked, and Dana tried to sing it again.

�After little bit he just leaded over and kissed me gently on the lips. He got really embarrassed and turned his faced away, then I turned his face back and kissed him. Then we I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist and we kiss passionately." Dana stopped for a second remembering how his arms felt around her and his lips tasted against hers. Then she continued, "Then I realized what time it was and we had to come back. Once he was in the car I kissed him on the cheek. He said 'You can do that anytime.' Then he started the car and after a few minutes I laid my head on his arm, but he had trouble driving so I sat up the rest of the drive. We got out he asked me out for tomorrow I teased him and said yes. Then we kissed and my Dad was there. He had no problem with me and Carter kissing. He said something about kissing goodnight is done by the front door and not in the drive he smiled and walked away. Then we walked hand in hand to the room and you guys saw the rest. Probably could have gotten another kiss or two if you guys hadn't been there."

"Well tomorrow just stay in your rooms and let have some privacy when we say goodnight." Dana said crawling under her covers.

"Well excuse us for being annoying." Kelsey said and she climbed into bed.

�Good night Ladies." Chris said and walked out. Dana and Kelsey turned off their lights on went to bed.

Coming out of the rooms Chris and Ryan met up. As they heard Carter laughing hysterically. Ryan shrugged as they started towards their rooms.

�Good plan� Ryan said as they walked.

�Thank you� Chris said, �Wondering how long it�s gonna take him to realize that.�

�I think he already did.� Ryan said.

�That�s not what I meant.� Chris said as they walked.

�Think he will figure out whatever you�re talking about?� Ryan asked.

�Oh yeah and he�s going to kill me.� Will out any further A due there was a distinctive �CHRIS� from the guys quarters. Chris busted out laughing as she walked into her quarters. Ryan was confused he�d have to ask Carter about it later.
