A month after the incident, Alana still feel like going outside alone. She was normally brave and stood up for herself, but the feeling of her being so close to being raped was the one thing that scared her the most. She never thought that would happen to her. Her father had talked to Cory's dad and both of them agreed to send him to an anger control institution. He was also on parole for the attempted rape of Alana. Cory wouldn't be seen for a long time. That was the one thing that Alana didn't have to worry about, but she was still a little worried about going outside. Janet came and knocked on her door before opening it and looked at Alana.
" Hey, I'm going into town to pick up a new book at the book store and mom wants me to ask you if you want to go." Janet said. She looked at her who just shrugged and nodded. Janet nodded and walked back outside the door. She hadn't been as mean to Alana as before, because of her sister being so drawn from talking to anyone.
Alana went through her closet and found herself a loose fitting pair of jeans with tears at the knees and the butt, and then she got out a fitted shirt with long sleeves. She took out some old sneakers and brushed her hair. She pulled it into a ponytail and looked at herself. Her pants were blue faded jeans and her shirt was grey. It didn't bring out the best look of her, but she decided that it was a good thing. She grabbed her thin nylon jacket and put it on and then walked out her bedroom door.
Janet was wearing her black hip-huggers with that white satin shirt with the collar that she had bought a month ago. She always wore her high-heeled boots and Alana was just waiting for the moment they tore through. Janet looked at Alana in surprise. She didn't say anything though. Alana wasn't showing off any skin except her head, neck, and hands. It was a surprise to see her wearing clothes that she was. Janet looked at her sister and then raised her brow.
" You know I can see a part of your underwear." She noted.
" I know, but this is what I want to wear. I'll try to cover it with my jacket." She stated solemnly and waited for her who just nodded and grabbed her keys. Catherine and Janet shared the same van rather than but her a new one. Antonio had gotten his Mustang fixed and hardly drove the Javelin or the motorcycle. Alana had her motorcycle, but she didn't drive it very far anymore. However, she still loved it just the same.
Leonardo was with Mike, shopping for a few things they needed. The cashier looked at them suspiciously when they came to the check out, but didn't say anything as they paid. They grabbed their bags and walked out the door. The air was pretty cold still, but not as bad as the month before. It was about forty degrees or so, but the turtles were used to it by now. They were shoes that Donatello and Mike had constructed using the soles of a size eleven shoes and suede leather. The shoes looked almost like moccasins, but they were very comfortable. It kept their feet warm and the people from seeing them.
The two turtles walked down the sidewalk and talked to each other. Mostly about Splinter who seemed to be getting older with every day that passed by.
" You don't think he's sick, do you?" Mike asked. Leo shrugged.
" I don't think so, but he told me he wasn't. He's worn out it seems." Leo said. A van pulled up and parked in the lot outside a book store and Leo and Mike were going to turn down an alley way until Mike saw Alana get out of the car.
" Hey look, it's that girl we helped at the park a month ago." Mike said. Leonardo looked at Alana, but his attention went straight to the girl that came out next to her. A feeling that he never felt before swept over him as he stared at the taller one.
" She's beautiful." Leo exclaimed. Mike looked at him strangely and then shrugged.
" You act like you've never seen her before." He said.
" No! Alana's beautiful, but that girl she is with.....she looks like she could be more my type." Leo said as he watched them go into the bookstore.
" Really? Why? Cause she is dressed nice and sophisticated?" Mike asked. He noticed his brother was staring at the door they had just gone in.
" You like her! You like her! I know you like her!" Mike chanted gleefully. Leo watched his little brother dance around him and then shook his head.
" Let's go." He said and started to walk away, but Mikey stayed right where he was.
" You know what? I need to get a book on painting." Mike said and Leo could tell by the gleam in his eyes that he was smiling beneath the scarf. He turned and went to the doors.
" Mike! No, get it later." Leo said nervously, thinking that Mike was going to do something he didn't want him to do.
" No, come on!" Mike said and dragged Leo into the bookstore. There wasn't many people around that hour, but Leo felt himself trembling with nerves. Mike started to giggle and Leo him on the arm.
" This is not funny! I can't believe that you are doing this to me." Leo hissed and looked around. Mike just kept giggling and walked around the store. He went to get his book on painting and looked around to see Alana going through the books. He found the one he wanted and glanced at Alana. Leo was looking around nervously to see if that girl she came in with was around, but he didn't see her.
" Hey!" Mike called. Leo turned and his eyes widened when he saw that Mike was trying to talk to Alana.
" Mike!" He hissed. Alana looked at them.
" You're the girl we helped a month ago in the park." Mike stated. Alana turned to face them.
" Yeah.....I remember you and the other ones you were with." She stated. Mike walked over to her and Leo followed, but knew where Mike was getting at.
" Sorry we had to make you leave so quickly." He said. Alana shrugged.
" Are you the one who took me back to my motorcycle?" She asked recognizing the voice.
" Yeah, that'll be me." He said.
" Did you work out your family problem?" She asked curiously, hoping that none of them had gotten hurt.
" No." The other said flatly and was looking around the book store.
" Don't mind him. We're all brothers and he got into a fight with the one that had moved you out of the way." Mike said.
" Really? The one who threw the giant fork?" Alana asked. Mike and Leo laughed under their breaths and Alana felt the urge to trust them, but she was so stressed out about what happened, that she didn't know is she was up for making new friends. She looked at the two figures and noticed they wearing beany hats and scarfs to cover their faces and trench coats and strange shoes. They had gloves covering their hands and she noticed that both of them had only three fingers.
" What's so funny?" She asked.
" Nothing. It's just that it wasn't a fork. They're called Samurai sais." Mike said.
" Samurai sais? Aren't those ninja weapons or something?" She asked.
" Yeah, we do a little of it every now and then." Mike said and then Leo gripped Mike's arm and they looked to see that girl she had come in with. She looked at Alana curiously and stood next to her.
" This is my sister, Janet. Janet, these are two of the four that had helped me that one day I got into a fight at the park." Alana said and Janet relaxed and smiled.
" Well nice to meet you." She said kindly. Leo found himself staring at her, but turned away quickly when Janet looked at him. Janet raised her eyebrow in curiosity.
" Why do you guys cover yourself?" She asked. Leo and Mike looked at each other and then back at the two girls.
" We have deformities." Mike said and lifted his hand. Janet didn't seem surprised, after all, Alana had mentioned something about it. Janet just shrugged.
" That's no reason to cover yourself." She stated. Leo looked down for a moment.
" Um.....it's really bad and wen don't like people to stare." He said when the honest trust was he didn't want people to scream.
" Oh." Janet said softly.
" I don't mean to be blunt, are you guys rich or something?" Mike asked.
" I mean, I remember when you and your dad pulled up at Pizza Hut in that rare Javelin and I had been wondering about that." He added. Alana shrugged.
" We're financially stable." Janet said for her.
" Our dad's a doctor and our mom is an architect so their income is pretty good. As for the Javelin, my dad bought the car for a thousand in a junk yard and it was in really bad shape. He just fixed it up after that." Alana said. Mike nodded and noticed his brother staring at Janet.
" You two don't sound....well you two have an accent so I was assuming that might have been from another country." Mike said.
" Yes we are. We were born in Spain. Our whole family is full Spaniard so we all have accents like this. We have lived here for twelve years though. Two years in a home in Manhattan, because our father was having our new house built outside the city. For ten years we have lived in that house." Janet said and looked at Leonardo.
" Where do you and your brothers live?" She asked, but saw the look of discomfort in his eyes.
" Just in a small house not far from here. We can't afford anything really big." Leo said. It wasn't the truth, but it wasn't exactly a lie either. Janet decided that she'd better not push the subject any further. Janet was holding three large novels that she had to adjust from hand to hand.
" Are you ready to pay for those?" Leo asked.
" Yeah, I better, they're a little heavy." Janet said.
" Here, let me take them then." He said and gently took the books from her hands. She smiled and Alana couldn't help but smirk. Mike was glad that his scarf was covering his cause he was grinning at Leo's actions. The four of them walked up to the counter and Mike paid for his book. The clerk was already familiar with the two and greeted Mike with a smile.
" So how's the art doing?" He asked. Mike nodded and said a few things, but Alana didn't hear them and Janet was too busy talking to Leo. They paid for Janet's books and then walked out of the store. Janet put the books inside the van and looked at the two new friends.
" You know, I never did ask for your names." She said feeling a little stupid.
" That's ok, we forgot to give them." Mike said.
" He's is Michealangelo and I am Leonardo." He introduced. Janet nodded.
" Renaissance artists. Nice." She said kindly and opened the door for Alana. Leo didn't know what to say. He was off in his little dream world, but deep down, he knew that he couldn't make anything more than friends with her. Being what he was; it just wasn't possible.
" Well it was nice meeting you. Are any of you going to be here tomorrow?" She asked, more to Leo than to Mike.
" I don't know, why?" Mike asked.
" Well cause I am going to be here doing some work while I wait for Alana to get out of classes." She said. They looked at her strangely.
" During the night?" Mike asked.
" Yeah, at 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m." She said.
" I didn't know they had night school around here." Mike stated, confused.
" Oh no, we don't go to school. We are home taught and the classes that I meant were ballet. Alana's a ballet dancer and her classes are tomorrow night."
" Ohhh.......ouch." Mike said flinching. He had seen some performances on t.v. with ballet dancers standing on the very tips of their toes and it looked a little painful to him.
" Yeah, I'll agree on that. My mom used to do it, so now she's doing it, but she hasn't been there in almost a month. Not since that incident...." Janet said quietly.
" Oh yes. She didn't seem affected while she was there. She defended herself pretty good." Leo said.
" Yes well, she has this thing about being touched. She doesn't like the idea of someone touching her like he was trying to do and it got to her later. She won't even ride her motorcycle near town and she loves that thing to death." Janet said.
" I can imagine." Mike said almost wanting one himself. He had liked her bike along with the color too.
" Well I better get going. If you want you two can join me tomorrow around seven, I'll be there until ten." She said. Leo and Mike nodded and said goodbye. Janet got in the van and drove down the street.
Mike started to laugh and nudged Leo on the arm. Leonardo was glad that his face was covered because he could feel his cheeks flushed with excitement.
" Oh yeah Leo! You go boy! Your first official date!" Mike said and laughed till tears came to his eyes.
" I saw how you were looking at her! Here let me take these for you....." Mike repeated and laughed even harder. Leo smacked him on the arm.
" Ok, Ok, I was only trying to be nice." Leo said.
" Oh yeah right!" Mike laughed and followed Leo down the street and to an alley where there was a manhole. Leo lifted it and Mike climbed down, still laughing at his brother.
" Ok, shut up Mike!" Leo hissed, hoping that his brother wouldn't say anything. He was afraid of getting laughed at by Donatello. Raphael on the other hand probably wouldn't laugh, but instead say something rude and obscene. They walked together down the tunnels and Mike turned to look at his brother as he took off his disguise.
" So Leo-nardo are you going to meet her tomorrow?" Mike asked teasingly.
" I don't know if I should...." Leo started, but Mike cut him off.
" Yes you should. She is probably already expecting you to show up." He said.
" No, she is probably expecting us to show up." Leo said.
" That's ok, just say I had to errands to run and I couldn't make it." Mike said with a smile. Leo gave his brother a level look and knew what he was trying to do.
" Mike, do you realize that I am a green mutant turtle and she is a beautiful, not to mention a rich and high in society girl? I think a future with us together is a little.....out of my range." Leo said flatly.
" Hey, you never know. Some rich girls are pretty kinky. I see it on t.v. all the time." Mike said and walked on.
" I'm sure you did. One of Raph's tapes I take it." It was more like a statement than a question, but Mike only shrugged.
" Not just his. I was checking on him and I see it on the t.v. sometimes. What can I say?" Mike asked and Leo shook his head and shuddered.
" I don't want to know the rest." Leo said and heaved a sigh of disbelief. Sometimes Raphael just took it too far.
" General's Daughter isn't a porn." Mike stated suddenly. Leo turned his eyes to look at Mike levelly and shook his head.
The turtles walked into the lair and sat down after hanging their clothes. Donatello came out of his box cart room and sat down with his brothers.
" Where's Splinter?" Leo asked in concern.
" He's been sleeping all day." Don said a little worriedly. Leo nodded, but didn't say anything more on the subject. He didn't want to worry his brothers.
" Where's Raphael?" Mike asked.
" He is in his room and he hasn't come out either." Don said, but the tone of his voice didn't sound too happy.
" He was yelling earlier and cursing at me because I told him to be quiet. He told me that he was going to kick my ass as soon as he gets the chance. Splinter told him to stop once and I haven't heard anything since. It's been almost a month since I hit him and he acts like it was yesterday." Don said angrily.
" Well, you know Raphael, until he gets his payback, he is going to be like this. We haven't given him the opportunity he wants." Leo growled.
" Alright, let's talk about a nicer subject." Mike said and smiled at Leo.
" No!" Leo hissed at his brother, but it was too late.
" Leo's in love! That girl Alana that we helped a month ago, has a sister named Janet and Leo is head over heels for her and they are meeting tomorrow." Mike said happily.
" Mike!" Leo growled, but he heard Don chuckling softly.
" Well you never know Leo, maybe if she falls in love with you first before she sees you, she won't carte that you're a big green turtle." Don said. Leo rolled his eyes and glared at Mike. Raphael had over heard them in his room and growled.
" Fucking morons!" He yelled. His brothers looked up at his room and shook their heads. He was probably the only one that was going to give them trouble.
