"Painting provides me with a workable tool that helps me to express to others my creative ideas. I prefer that my paintings are not just depiction's of candid objects, but scenes that appear to be moving. I enjoy giving the viewer an inside glimpse into a natural event, or story, or perhaps invite them to just let their imagination wander... the canvas merely becomes my projection screen."
-Peter R. Gerbert
Peter R. Gerbert lives and works primarily in Florida. His love of wild Florida has made it the primary focal point of his work. No place else on earth offers so many different wildlife habitats, and the perfect weather for camping, hiking, swimming and studying wild creatures in their natural habitat throughout the year. Mr. Gerbert's creativeness and close attention to all of the elements that make up a particular habitat have become his noticeable trademarks. Mr. Gerbert is the Florida Wildlife Federation's featured artist and together they have made remarkable advancements with promoting wildlife awareness in Florida, including the National Wildlife Federations involvement to promote the artists work inside all of the schools in Florida. Together the FWF and Peter R. Gerbert are always working on exciting, new artistic projects.
The artist has been commissioned several times by Bits & Pieces, Inc. for works currently being produced as 1,000 and 1,500 piece jigsaw puzzles, marketed internationally. He has also been commissioned for the original painting "Roseate Sunset" now on permanent display in the lobby of the Inn at Disney's Celebration.
Pictured here is one of Peter G's high quality Iris Reproductions, "Of Friendships Remembered." It is part of a series of original works depicting animal thought, giving people the notion that animals and birds lead full lives, too.

"I think that this artist is very bold, he has created works that are very unique. Very original, almost surreal images that work. This artist should be applauded."
