 I like Dafna Dekel a lot.She
may not be the best singer in the world, but her energy, her joie de vivre are very
compelling. Moreover the songs that she usually sings are catchy! Dafna started
singing in the army, and later released a fabulous first album in 1989 (which
unfortunately does not exst on CD, and will not likely exist since in the meantime she
changed her record company).She represented Israel at the Eurovision in 1992 with the
forgettable (yet catchy...) song "Viva Sport". Her success in the adult
charts not being what was expected, Dafna switched gears and targeted a much younger
audience (in other words, children songs). Still, in1994 she released a second adult album
that was really good (except for the terrible picture on the cover...;-) ). She has not
done much since then, but I hope that she will make another album because Dafna Dekel has
great potential! |
