Photograph of Highland Folks from the Pitumarca District decked out in their Sunday best on Market Day in Pitumarca. Their dress and apparel is of distinction. The men wear short waist-long Ponchos (refer to portrait of Inca couple - image # 3 of this gallery), dark blue bayeta overpants on top of white homespun innerpants. Felt slouch hats with warp weave hatbands on top of knitted wool hats (Chuyo). Ladies wear same dress as in portrait # 17 of this gallery. Chicha (fermented maize beer) is drank from 20th century plastic plant watering pitchers. Australian Eucalyptus trees imported in the 1880's dot the hillsides.
