Random babbling: Duo Maxwell is the fun one of the group that's always light-hearted and gets along with just about everyone. Personally, he's not my favorite (although it's a REALLY close call between him and Quatre), but I do think he's the coolest of the pilots. I can't help but love that attitude of his. On the other hand, I do think Duo had a more serious side. He doesn't show that side very often, but it's most noticeable when he's around Quatre (the episode where they hide at the desert base, Duo is a lot less happy-go-lucky than usual), or when someone he's close to is in danger. Notice how he's always yelling something along the lines of, "You fool!" when his friends do things that could get them hurt or killed. (Like when Hildre sneaks aboard Libra or when Quatre stays to fight on earth so that the others can make it to space.) Also, there's the time when he explains to Hildre why he's fighting, or the time when he's staring at the moon. The times when we actually see this side of him are few and far between, but I think it gives Duo a lot of depth, which is one reason I like him so much.

Duo: Hey you! I'm calling you! You won't even acknowledge our help. Here I am, Mr. Nice Guy, offering to fix your mobile suit with mine but you just brush me right off.
Heero: I don't want anybody touching my mobile suit... that's all, pal.
Duo: Well that's a joke. You haven't even got the parts. The best engineers in the world couldn't repair machines without the parts, mechanics needs parts for repairs, not like you with your leg. See what I'm sayin'? *sigh* Why did I even bother to rescue this guy in the first place? He's anti-social, thinks he's Evel Kneivel, and hardly speaks. *sigh* You got such a gloomy personality, why don't you just give up and stop pretending to be human?

*sigh* Will Duo never learn?
