Chapter 7
Mysteries
Brandon awoke, feeling his back being poked repeatedly. He groans,
not wanting to even know what time it was.
"Isaac, just go back to bed...I've heard that poem a thousand times..."
Isaac ignored Brandon's pleading, pulling the covers off the bed.
"I want you to go somewhere with me. Please." He poked Brandon's back again.
Brandon groaned again, giving up.
"Fine. Give me a minute..."
Isaac nodded, and opened the door to wait outside.
Brandon yawns, slowly getting his clothes on shoes on on. After about
five minutes he joined Issac outside, still half asleep.
Isaac led him to his car, which was parked right outside the dorm.
"Thanks for coming with me." Isaac said as he started the car.
"No problem..." Brandon murmered sleepily. "Where we going?"
"You'll see." Isaac replied.
Brandon looked at the clock, which was flashing 3:00 am. Rubbing his eyes,
he watches as scenery pases by. Houses, stores, car lots; after a few
minutes Brandon realized they were in a part of the city he didn't know.
He yawned again, feeling more tired as Isaac continued to drive. Soon Isaac
stoped the car next to a field outside of town.
Brandon stared, trying to figure out why they were here.
"Isaac, what..."
Isaac climbed out of the car, and entered the field. He pauses for a
minute before turning back to Brandon.
"Isn't this beautiful?"
Brandon blinks at him.
"Huh?"
"There are so many plants and flowers that make this field what it is.
We should take time to give them respect."
Brandon blinks.
"Yeah....can we go home now?"
Isaac keeps staring out to the feild.
"The spirits that grow and nurture these plants often go unnoticed..
they might get annoyed soon..."
Brandon fidgets.
"Um...yeah. Isaac? Home?"
Isaac shakes his head, turning back to Brandon and the car.
"Yeah...we'll go back. Sorry."
He climbs into the car and starts the engine again

Alex sits alone at a table. It was quiet in the library, more so then
usual. He glanced up to see Jennifer nearby. He blushed and looked
back to his book.
Jennifer finished putting a pile of books back on the shelf. When
she around to grab another few books, she noticed Alex sitting by himself.
She waved at him when he dared to look up again, cuasing him to redden
and hide behind his books.
She chuckled, leaving the her work to walk closer to him. She glides
behind him, tapping him on the shoulder.
Alex jumped and looked up, surprised she bothered coming over.
"Oh, hi Jennifer. Didn't know you were working today."
She nodded and sat next to him.
"Well, I am. How are you today? I've seen you hanging around since
our last talk."
Alex gulped nervously.
"Yeah...busy studying. Lots to study..."
Jennifer looked down at his books, trying to discern the titles.
"What are you reading?"
"Oh, uh...litature, Biology, Calculas...Stuff like that."
She looked back at him and smiled.
"Looks like you're keeping busy."
Alex nodded.
"Yep."
Jennfer stood up.
"Well, I have to go back to working. I hope we get to see each other again."
Alex glanced to her as she left. He smiled to himself and continued reading.

Alex drifted aimlessly around the campus, wondering where Brian had gone.
They were supposed to meet in the cafeteria but Brian never showed up. He sighed, and
returned to thier room. Why did it seem all his friends were so far away? Well, Brandon actually was,
but Jason and Monica...The last time he talked to him was at least two weeks ago. They were probably busy
with thier own schoolwork, since they didn't attend the same college as Alex, but soon they'd have to get
together again. Alex would see to that.
Alex laid down on his bed, staring at the ceiling. He couldn't help but think if things would be different
if Brandon hadn't moved. Why had Brandon moved, anyway? Alex guessed it had something to do with his mother's
sudden death, but he never really asked. Brandon kept to himself in the weeks after the death...What had the other
guy thought about in that time? Perhaps it was time to find out...
