Jason awoke to the sun coming up over the horizon. He noticed it
was hot in the car and rolled down a window. He wondered why he
had slept in the car. Then he remembered last night's activities,
driving away from the field. He couldn't find any motels so he
decided to pull over. He took out and looked at the map.
It seemed that that they'd have to travel all day, but they should
arrive at their destination tomorrow afternoon. Alex and Brandon
were starting to wake up. Jason sat up, turned the car on, and headed on the
road again.
"When will we reach the nearest city?" Alex asked.
"In about twenty minutes. Where should we go for breakfast?" Jason
responded.
"I don't care. Just somewhere." Brandon mumbled.
"How about Mcdonalds?" Alex suggested.
"I hate McDonalds. Burger King?" Jason said.
"That's fine. Does that sound good to you, Brandon?"
"Yeah." Brandon replied.

Alex stared out the window. They had been driving for three hours
without a break.
"Jason, pull off at the next exit. I need to get out of the car for a
little while."
"Well, the next exit features the one and only giant sabertooth
rabbit." Brandon said, reading one of the road signs.
"Giant sabortooth rabbit?" Jason responded, "What kind of idiots
would even stop at a place like that?"
"We're stopping there." Alex bluntly pointed out. Jason snorted.
"This is different. We aren't going to see the overgrown fanged
bunny!"
"Maybe seeing it wouldn't be such a bad idea." Brandon stated. Jason
groaned. He looked at Alex. Alex shrugged.
"It might be fun." He said.
"Fine." Jason said resignedly, "What ever you two want. But you do know
it's not real, right?" Brandon smiled.
"There are always possibilities." Jason frowned.
"Brandon, you're an idiot." It didn't take long to get there, and they
found that several other cars were parked near them.
"They're all idiots." Jason said as they approached the attraction.
"Spoilsport." Alex teased. They stopped behind the other people. There
were T-shirts and postcards being sold around them. In the center there
was a cage that had been covered with a large blanket. Beside it stood
a man dressed in blue with a black hat. Apparently he was the owner.
Finally he moved to the front of the cage and got everybody's attention.
"Ladies and gentleman, this is the moment you've all been waiting for."
the guy said. "In just a few minutes you will witness the most dangerous
creature you will ever meet."
A huge growl sounded from inside the cage.
A gasp ran through the crowd. One child started crying. The man went
on.
"If you don't think you can handle this event, I urge you to depart now."
Three people left. The only ones left were the guys and an old lady.
"Now, I will reveal the discovery of the century!" The guy ripped the
blanket off and and the 'rabbit' growled once more. They all stared at
it. The old lady walked off in disgust. Brandon, Alex and Jason found
themselves looking at a cardboard rabbit with drawn-on fangs. Speakers
surrounded it. The man smiled proudly.
"What do you think, boys? Isn't she wonderful?" A few raindrops few,
followed by more. The cardboard bunny turned soggy and collapsed.
"No!" The man screamed. "My mutant bunny! It's dying! Why did this have
to happen today? I was this close to buying a lifetime supply of paperclips!"
The fell to his knees, sobbing. The guys stood still, wondering if they
should help him or just leave. Then just as suddenly the man stopped crying.
"I'll just come up with another attraction! Yeah, that's it." He walked
away muttering to himself.
"That was a waste of time, just like I said it would be." Jason complained.
"And now we're wet."
"It was kind of funny." Brandon said. "At least we didn't have to pay to
see it."
"Yeah," Alex put in, "And they sell drinks. I'm thirsty." Jason sighed.
"Come on. I want to go."

Later that day, they decided to check in to a motel for the night.
The only found they found was a motel six.
Brandon and Alex sat on the couch.
"There are only two beds." Alex said. "We're going to have to decide
who gets the couch tonight."
"You two can decide. I'm going to take a shower." Jason said as he
went into the bathroom. Brandon looked at Alex.
"Which do you want?" Alex shrugged.
"I don't care. I guess I'll sleep on the couch."
"Fine. That's settled. What should we do now?"
"Well, I'm going to take a shower after Jason. We've been in the car
since yesterday afternoon."
"Good point. I guess I'll take one too." Alex stood up and opened his
suitcase. He took some clothes and a towel. Brandon looked at the clock
sitting on the nightstand between the beds.
"Wow, it's already eleven PM. No wonder I'm so tired." He remarked to
himself. He stood up also.
"Do you want to watch some tv while we wait?" He asked Alex. Alex shrugged.
"What's on?" Brandon grabbed the remote and turned on the tv.
"There's Sesame Street." Alex gimanced.
"No way. Let me have the remote." Alex channel surfed until a lion appeared
on the screen.
"The discovery channel." Alex stated.
"It's better then nothing." Brandon said, sitting back down on the couch.
"Or Sesame Street." They were watching a documentary on Africa when Jason
came out of the bathroom in his pajamas. Alex collected his clothes and took his turn.
"What's this?" Jason asked, pointing to the tv.
"The discovery channel." Brandon answered.
"Do you mind if I turn it off? I'm going to get ready for bed."
"No. Go ahead." Jason turned it off.
"I'm planning to get up early. I might get breakfast too. What would you
like." Brandon laid down on the couch.
"I don't care. What ever you want to buy." He responded. Jason pulled back
the covers of one of they beds.
"What did you decide for the beds?"
"You and I get the beds." Jason nodded.
"Sounds fine to me."
"Jason, how much more do we have to drive?" Brandon asked.
"If we leave here by ten, we should arrive by three. That's not long."
Jason packed his dirty clothes in his suitcase. Soon, Alex came out of the
bathroom.
"Okay, Brandon. It's your turn." He looked over to the couch and noticed that
Brandon was fast asleep.
"Hmm. I guess this means I get the other bed." Alex shrugged. He also got ready
for bed.
"Goodnight, Jason."
"Goodnight, Alex."
