"Hey Jimmy" Donna yelled, running across the field.
"Hi Donna" Jim said as Donna appoached. Donna and her family moved to Iwoa a few months ago
and they became fast friends.
"What're ya doing?" she asked.
"Just lookin' at the clouds. See that one? It looks like a starship."He pointed to the sky.
"I think it looks like a jelly bean"
"You have to use your imaition. it's a starship fighting a Klingon Bird of Prey."
"So, you're still thinking of Starfleet."
"Yeah, I mean space is in my blood. It's all I ever think about. It's the last thing on
my mind when I go to sleep and the first thing when I wake up. I even dream about it."
"I've been thinking about it too. It's better than being a farmer. By the way, I hear your
taking Ruth out on a date."
"It's not a date. We're just having dinner, then I'm taking her home."
"It's sounds like date to me"
"It's not a date"
"Whatever"
He paused, "Okay, it might be a date."
"Ya nevous?"
"Sort of. I have to kiss her. I mean, how do I know when to kiss,or if our noses get in
the way. What if I kiss her teeth?"
"Relax. All you need is practice."
"Want are you going to do"
"I'm teaching to how to kiss. First you look deep in my eyes. Then you bend your head a
little and move your lips ever so slowly and then-" Suddenly Jim took her into his arms
and gave her a big, wet kiss then released her.
She was speechles for a few seconds. "Where did you learn that?" she asked.
"From my parents. Where did you learn yours?"
"From mine. That reminds me. I'm moving to Nebraska"
He was shocked. He said nothing for a moment, then "Why?"
"Dad has bought some land other there, to be closer to grandma"
"So, I guess we won't see each other for a while."
"Guess not. Well goodbye Jim"
"Bye" he said as she ran back to her house.
